ASSAY: Preparation and analysis of Tablet: For analysis of Cefuroxime Axetil and Linezolid in tablet, twenty tablets (Oratil LZ) which contain 500 mg of Cefuroxime Axetil and 600 mg of Linezolid was taken .Powder weight equivalent to 10 mg of drug was dissolved in a 100 ml volumetric flask and made up to half mark with ACN. It was sonicated till drug dissolve and was made up to mark with methanol (Stock solution). The Stock solution contains 100 μg/ml Cefuroxime Axetil of and 120 μg/ml of Linezolid. From above stock solution pipette out 0.75 ml and transferred in to a 10 ml volumetric flask and the volume was adjusted up to the mark with Mobile phase to make final concentration of Cefuroxime Axetil 7.5 μg/ml and Linezolid 9 μg/ml. ANALYTICAL METHOD VALIDATION: The developed method was validated with respect to linearity, accuracy, precision, …show more content…
Typically these might include impurities, degradants, matrix, etc. LINEARITY & RANGE: The linearity of Cefuroxime Axetil and Linezolid was found to be in the range of 2.5-12.5 μg/ml and 3-15 μg/ml respectively. Plot the calibration curve of area vs concentration (μg/ml). Linearity of both the drugs was checked in term of slope, intercept and correlation coefficient. Preparation of calibration curve Aliquots of stock solution of Cefuroxime Axetil (100 µg/ml) 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1.0 and 1.25 ml and Linezolid (100 µg/ml) 0.3, 0.6, 0.9, 1.2 and 1.5 ml were pipette out in same five different 10 ml volumetric flasks and further diluted with mobile phase to obtain the concentration of about 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 μg/ml for Cefuroxime Axetil and 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20 for Linezolid. 20 µl of each solution were injected into HPLC system and analyzed. Calibration curve was obtained by plotting respective peak area Vs Concentration in µg/ml and regression equation was obtained.
This antibiotic produced a zone of inhibition of 26mm and was therefore sensitive. After a little bit more research it was concluded that K. oxytoca produces B-lactamase, therefore making it resistant to penicillin and ampicillin (MicrobeWiki, 2015). Now that testing has been done the providers know what type of medication would be best to start with. Two out of four medications could possibly be used to attack the infection. If the patient were to take Ciprofloxacin the mechanism of action would be to inhibit relaxation of DNA; inhibit DNA gyrase in
This research paper is about is there enough carbon dioxide in alka seltzer tablets to inflate a balloon. First, what is carbon dioxide? Carbon dioxide is what plants need to grow, it’s what humans exhale, and it’s a powerful gas. Carbon dioxide is also found in volcanoes like Mauna Loa, a volcano found in Hawaii. Air samples at Mauna Loa are collected every day, four times a day.
Although many scholars debate the levels of literacy in the Ancient world, the Vindolanda tablets do provide evidence of written eloquence in writing, and even more surprisingly, evidence of women writing. This in itself is a testament to Latin notions of literacy where (elite) women were just as capable of literacy as men. Specifically, Vindolanda tablet 291 contains a letter to Silpicia Lepidina from Claudia Severa, wife of Aelius Brocchus, who is sending an invitation to a dinner party for Severa’s birthday. The elegant script is marked by a high level of formality, such as ‘For the day of the celebration of my birthday, I give you a warm invitation to make sure you come to us, to make the day more enjoyable for me’. The ‘warm invitation’
The most common ways of treatment of the roundworms involve taking all the medications which assist in killing the parasites in the body (Jex, 2011). The medications which are taken usually depend on the type of roundworms which are targeted. The most common medications which are offered by the nurses include mebendazole, the albendazole, and the piperazine. These three types of medications are usually prescribed by the nurses in order to help in fighting against the roundworms in the body. In some circumstances, the diagnosis may show that the patients have to take some surgeries.
Many people consider the term "electronic cigarette" (e-cig) incorrect, because the word "cigarette" refers to regular cigarettes (cigs), i.e. burning, something that e-cigs have no relation with (they just evaporate a liquid). For this reason, they propose the use of alternative terms, such as "vaping devices", "Personal Vaporizers" (PVs) or "Advanced Personal Vaporizers" (APVs). The term that is used more frequently within this book is "electronic cigarette" (e-cig), as it is more widespread and more familiar to most people. The word "cigarette" in the term "electronic cigarette" may not be an accurate description about how the device operates, but it declares what this device is similar to. The verb that describes the use of electronic cigarettes
Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common childhood disorder, impacting about 5% of children worldwide (Prasad et al., 2013). Typically children diagnosed with ADHD display symptoms such as hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattention. These characteristics usually lend themselves to challenges in school and academic achievement. Children with ADHD are more likely to underachieve in school, to complete less work and receive lower grades (Prasad et al., 2013). With such an impact on educational achievement, it is important to find the most effective and beneficial interventions to aid students.

In this lab, we tested 8 known ingredients to find what ingredients was in our unknown A and unknown B medications. We first tested the water solubility of our knowns and unknowns. We found that of the knowns, cornstarch and acetaminophen were the only ones not water soluble. The unknowns were also not water soluble. Th next test was the pH test.
Tucson water Tucson, Arizona is a city of 526,116 people and they are all supplied water from the same organization Tucson water. The water has restrictions on what contaminants can be inside the water, but what are the effects of the contaminants which they do not have restrictions on. If they have a mixture of Nitrate-N, Sodium, and Fluoride inside the water then it will cause harm to Caenorhabditis Elegans (C elegans) because the possible large amounts inside the water. C elegans are very similar to humans cellular wise and they are often being used in medical testing and research before moving onto larger subjects.
Drug Kardexes were gathered and audited under certain criteria in order to identify potential risk areas in drug prescribing and administration, and also to provide ways in which these risks can be reduced or eliminated and reinforce drug management policies’ and guidelines. NICE (2002) audit cycle will be applied to this assignment to provide an acceptable framework (Appendix 1). Step 1: Preparing for Audit. The first step in the audit process is to identify which type of audit is to be carried out.
Properties of Substances Express Lab 1)The purpose of this lab was to compare the physical properties of different types of solids and how the properties of solids are determined by their intermolecular forces and their intramolecular bonds. Then we were to classify each type of solid as either ionic, metallic, non-polar molecular, polar molecular, or network. Paraffin wax classified as a non-polar molecular, Silicon dioxide was classifies as a network, Sodium chloride was classified as ionic, Sucrose was classified as polar molecular and Tin was classified as metallic. (2)The intermolecular forces that are present in Paraffin wax are dispersion forces, because it is non-polar and carries a negative charge. Followed by Sucrose that has
Method: The organ bath file was opened and we examined tissue type and Agonist and Antagonists of different drugs which were available. Guinea pig ileum was selected as tissue type and Acetyl choline as agonists. Then different amount of acetylcholine were added to the organ bath which produced different results and finally, a log – dose response curve for acetyl- choline was constructed with the X axis corresponding to drug dose (Drug concentration) and the Y axis corresponding to response (gms).
When interpreting concentration measurements, factors that need to be considered include the sampling time in relation to drug dose, dosage history, patient response, and the desired medicinal targets. The goal of therapeutic drug monitoring is to use suitable concentrations of difficult-to-manage medications to optimize clinical outcomes in patients in various clinical situations. Keywords: Drug monitoring, therapeutic; Pharmacokinetics Introduction Therapeutic drug monitoring is generally defined as the measurement of specific drugs at timed intervals in order to maintain a relatively constant concentration of the medication in the bloodstream. Monitored drugs tend to have a narrow therapeutic index, that is a ratio between the toxic and therapeutic doses of medications.
The substituents should therefore be hydrophobic and electron donating for maximum activity. • log 1/C is the concentration of drug that has a defined biological activity. The bigger the value of log 1/C , the smaller the value of c, the better the drug. • P is a measure of overall hydrophobicity. • π is the substituent hydrophobicity constant and measures the hydrophobicity of a specific region on the drug’s skeleton.
Finger Print Scanner Pill Dispenser: A Potential Solution to Medication Misuse or Abuse Introduction In the field of Medicine today, prescription drug abuse is a major problem and drug overdose is a leading cause of death. The increase in opioid prescription drug use and abuse has lead states like Washington to draft new standards for physician practice. Physicians have numerous patients that need pain medications for their medical conditions but after prescribing the medication there is limited control over what the patient does with it. The dilemma of making sure patients are compliant with their medication and not abusing it arises, making the physician have monitor the patient.
