In a short story the personality and character traits can either make or break the story. Learning from the stories read in the series of short stories in class, characters play a vital role in a short story. If someone were to change a mental or moral qualities of a character in the short story the short story would become a different story. Some examples of if a character were to change the story would be different is in the stories Gorilla My Love, 20/20, and Good People. Everything component has a reason it’s there in a short story and the characters help tell what that exact reason
All stories have a protagonist and then the minor character's. Protagonist, the main characters stand by character. Although we already know that every book contains minor characters, But do your know they are their for a reason. Minor characters who have been involved with the main character's make their thoughts and opinions on them. How the minor character's act, how they reflect the protagonist's personality and how they change them in a way as well as perceive.
How a character acts and what their personality is can describe their character trait. Sometimes characters are different in their traits, oftenly characters can be the same by changing or revising their own character trait. The protagonist is Doug from Okay for Now, by Gary Schmidt. Doug is a teenage boy that is struggling with a rough family. Doug 's father got a new job that was far away from his own town so, Doug has to adapt to the town that he moved to.
The short story "Drown" by Junot Diaz charts the thematic concern, which revolves around two opposing arcs. The narrators interactions with other characters allows the narrator to distinguish himself in regards to the opposing arcs (conflict). Through which Diaz argues that minor character are a necessity, since there function helps establish the thematic concerns, in this story it revolves around identity. Without minor characters developing, complicating, and resolving the conflict could not be achieved.
These are very meaningful within the story and are important as the audience
Hero's Value and Death An important element of literature is the theme, or the overall message a story wants to convey to its readers. The themes can make a story appear more interesting and compelling as it grabs the readers' attention. It also connects all parts of a story together, including the characters, the conflicts, and the plot. As a result, it makes a story easier to understand and readers are able make more connections to it.
Dickens also used wrote about a character that people could hate but he also decided to change the character through the story little by little. With doing this he helped the reader to also root for the character to try and change. The reader
The characters in any story are the main parts of the story that engage the readers with the uniqueness
Characters can change a great deal throughout the course of a story. Based off of "A Good Man Is Hard to Find," we see just how much a character will change. There are many reasons for the character shift (undergoes an inner change) that are left up for our interpretation, which can be read about in The Theory Toolbox. In "A Good Man Is Hard to Find," the grandma undergoes a great deal of shifting in her character.
Situations like these, portraying character growth, make stories more intriguing, symbolize the transformations going on within, and help readers connect them to real people in the
Characterization can be caused by many factors. Two of these factors are setting and conflict. These two factor into by showing and helping readers to infer about different characters’ dispositions and personalities. Setting helps to characterize as it largely affects conflict as in a survival based short story like ‘’To Build A Fire’’. Conflict gives a look into the mind of a character without going into their mind as it pushes the character into reacting which shows many different things about them.
My use of short story or a fiction literary composition as well as a narrative is important in the story because specific character 's actions are used. The character’s are used to portray the theme showing that they have hard times in life, but while working together they achieve their goals no matter how hard it gets. Their new mission is to help the world and they are all for it. The story also includes a dialogue in a way that the girl’s will be engaged in a conversation among each other. Vital Spies!
Short stories tend to cover a plot, a setting, and a small quantity of characters in such a limited amount of time. Two examples of a short story would include “Cons” by Jess Walter and “Killings” by Andres Dubus. Even though these stories contain their own unique storyline with different personas, they both can relate to one another by looking at them from multiple perspectives. “Cons” and “Killings” are very much alike as they are told from a third person narration, both men learn that they are capable of doing terrible things, and two individuals view death as problem solver.
Character traits help shape a person into what they are, there are ways to change them and become a better person. In the short story Charles, written by Shirley Jackson, a boy named Charles possessed many different negative character traits in which some include being, obnoxious, dangerous, and disrespectful. Charles displayed immature and unnecessary trouble for all the students and teachers. Being obnoxious means extremely unpleasant and Charles was just that in this short story. Charles possesses the trait obnoxious because all the children in the class were trying to listen to the story while the teacher would be unable to read due to the noise.
“The Tale of Three Brothers” was first presented in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh and last book in the Harry Potter series written by J.K. Rowling. In the story arc, one of the main character, Hermione Granger, narrates the story from her copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard. These tales were commonly read to children as bedtimes stories because they are “told to amuse rather than instruct” (Rowling 409). “The Three of Three Brothers” relates how three brothers cheated Death and received gifts from him. All these tokens combined would make the “Deathly Hallows”.
Character Switch Revision Four Character changes often have a large effect on the outcome of a story. For instance, a character that would not be motivated to work in their new situation would have a significant effect. These variations between characters are the types of things that cause changes within a story’s plot. Specifically, Jing-Mei’s stubbornness and inability to accept defeat would have been the source of change in Franz Kafka’s “A Hunger Artist” had the two main characters traded places.
