The election I choose to write about was the election of 1800. The two main opponents were John Adams of the Federalist party, and Thomas Jefferson of the Democratic-Republican party (The Election of 1800). John Adams was running for re-election, and his vice president, Thomas Jefferson decided to run against him. The Federalist party had played a major role in our brief history as a country, as they helped ratify the Constitution (The Ratification Debate). The Federalists were pushing for more federal power, but the Democratic-Republican party was pushing for more power from the state government, which helped them gain a lot of support.
Specifically, Parson summarizes the issues of the Tariff of Abominations and the nullification movement that it precipitated, the issues surrounding the renewal of the Bank of the U.S. charter and national infrastructure expenditures. Parson also provided a nice introduction for John Quincy Adams. Specifically, he writes that John Quincy Adams was born into a well-loved and privileged family. However, Parson describes Quincy’s life as somewhat of sad one. Specifically, Adams life wasn’t really his own and he was being groomed for his future his entire life.
Book Review Founding Brothers America born through the hardships and brave lives that severed and fought the British Army during our American Revolution. The Founding Brothers book by Joseph J. Ellis is about some important people and figures during and after the American Revolution. They are Alexander Hamilton, Aaron Burr, John Adams, George Washington, James Madison, and Thomas Jefferson above others. These men contributed to the making of our great country in some way or another. The Founding Brothers explains this in a few short story’s or chapters, to help understand how they contributed.
John Adams is one of the best “Adams” to be remember, especially as one of the most influential voices of the American Revolution. He had very strong opinions, and wise ones, and a very good solid background on studies, since he was born in a rich family, and he started to read and write when he was very young. His strong opiniones had a great influence in the American Revolution, especially in writing letters, and the declaration of Indipendence itself. Without him and his influence in my opinion the United States of America would have been a free.
Within the time of his presidency, John Adams witnessed the creation of the colonies. John Adams was forced to become an influential policy maker and new country figurehead. He saw himself go from a nobody to a founding father of the greatest country to ever be. Adams quoted, “I must study politics and war that sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy.” In which it is essential to engross in what is necessary and not what is longed for.
Though many people contributed to the uprising of America one voice was louder than all the rest, Samuel Adams. Samuel Adams was born in Boston in 1722. Adams was a puritan and believed strongly in many puritan values which were shown through his highly decorated political career. Adams was very educated and graduated from Harvard University in 1740. Adams would later go on to pen a letter directed at the crown over the injustices of the Sugar act.
While you may associate the name, Sam Adams, with beer, this is just one of the many contributions that Samuel Adams made to America. More importantly, Samuel Adams was a significant figure in American history because of his crucial role during the American Revolution. He is famous for opposing British taxation, organizing the Boston Tea party and signing the US Declaration of Independence. Samuel Adams was one of the founding fathers of America. Abigail Adams, advisor and wife to former president John Adams, was born in a time when women did not have many educational opportunities past secondary school. With her persistence and the encouragement of her family she was able to broaden her knowledge of philosophy, theology, classic authors, ancient history, government and law. This proficiency set her apart from other women of the time. Abigail was first introduced to John Adams when she was a teenager. He was currently in a relationship, therefore he did not think highly of Abigail.

Abigail Adams was extremely influential to the nation’s beginnings due to her drive to push certain decisions and debates through the status of her husband. She found the issues of women’s rights and slavery while also finding local politics to be important. As the wife of a president, Abigail Adams was able to use her status in a way to push and bring to life her political agenda. Abigail Adams was able to provide her husband with information and insights of the political situation in Boston during his decade long trip through numerous letters that had been exchanged for so long. Her letters regarding the political situation “included commentary on the American struggle for independence and the political structure of the new republic.”
The newly established land of America was attempting to break away from the mother country, England, to become the independent land that we know as the United States. The letter by Abigail Adam was written to her beloved son whom was traveling abroad with his father. Throughout the letter, Adams uses inspiring diction, allusions to historical figures, and well timed metaphors to encourage her son to be resilient and not shy away from any challenges that may face him. In the letter, Adams compares her son to other great leaders using allusions and metaphors.
These roles were important at the time, because the men involved eventually would bring us to freedom in America. I believe that the men are portrayed in the texts as being influential and intelligent. The texts portray them as people who have made an impact in our country, as they serve great value in our historical timeline. Though Jefferson and Adams both participated in the writing of the Declaration of Independence, it was unfortunate that they had both died 50 years before the day of the Second Continental Congress was approved in July 4, 1776. John Adams was also close to George Washington, and they would often spend time together as good friends.
Both John Smith and William Bradford were Englishmen who came to America and helped to found the earliest colonies in New England. They came at different times and for different reasons. Both tell of events during these travels in their written accounts, but these accounts show that the two men, as well as their goals, were drastically different. Captain John Smith, considered to be the first American writer, came to America in the spring of 1607. He had many adventures prior to the voyage to New England, and thought quite highly of himself, as is clear in his writings.
