Activists like Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X created more changed to integration and civil rights. People like King and X were more responsible for change because they were the people who inspired others to do something. Creators of those organizations have to have inspiration and at the time people like King and X were very influential because they presented hope and a dream of what life should be like and what life will be like. Organizations represent the progress made by African American People during the civil rights movement. Martin Luther King Jr was the most known Civil Rights activist during the Civil Rights Movement. King had a mindset that people of all color need to come together and live as one community. King thought that African American people were to no longer be segregated and mistreated and that they must begin to be treated equally as others. King also acted on African American people must get equal pay as other people and have equal opportunity for higher positions. People loved to rally behind king because everyone of African American culture who was being mistreated at the time, loved everything king had to say. At was one Kings big Speeches he said: “I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice”(Document I). King Made statements like this because it wasn't too far off, for a lot of people, Everything King said Could happen and so many people were inspired so more and more people were attracted to help make a change and follow King. Malcolm X comes from more of a rough background than King. Malcolm was kicked out of School and arrested at age 14. Not only was Malcolm Arrested at a young age, his dad was killed by a white mob and you can tell that this affects some of his beliefs and ways he acts during his Activism during the Civil Rights movement. Malcolm's dad believed that “black is beautiful” and that one of the things he would teach and elaborate on. Black has always been associated with negative things or activities and Malcolm's dad wanted to change that idea. Malcolm would attend his father's meetings as a boy because his father was a prominent person at the time. Malcolm X was very important in creating ideas for people to believe in. Malcolm believed that the Black community needed to become equal to white people but how he wants that done is different than Martin Luther Kings, in that the black community needs to catch up but on its own they all need to learn the way of life in this world and this is one of the main ideas Malcolm Acted on. “-Showing and teaching black men in ways that only other black men can - that the black man has got to help himself”(Document II).
