Dazed And Confused: Movie Analysis

‘Twelve Angry Men’ written by Reginald Rose, is based on the story of a jury who have to come together to determine the fate of a young boy accused to have murdered his own father. Initially, eleven of the jurors vote not guilty with one of the juror being uncertain of the evidence put before them. As the men argue over the different pieces of evidence, the insanity begins to make sense and the decision becomes clearer as they vote several other times. Rose creates drama and tension in the jury room, clearly exploring through the many issues of prejudice, integrity and compassion, in gaining true justice towards the accused victim. These aspects have been revealed through three character who are Juror 10, Juror 8 and Juror 3.

The former chapter was about individual models which make Travis Bickle and his loneliness, but this chapter is about the society which alienated him. Taxi Driver was released in 1976, and behind it, there is the social background of the United States from 1960s to 1970s.

When watching both Footloose movies the 1984 and the 2011 version, there are quite a few noticeable differences. I would like to start out by saying that the biggest one is the character choice. In my opinion Kevin Bacon didn't play a very good Ren McCormick. I believe that Kenny Wormald plays a better Ren. In my opinion the more modern version of the movie is a lot more up beat. Wormald dances WAY better! The dancing in this movie is a lot more dirty, Which makes more sense in the world of “banning dancing”.

All the teenagers around the world suffer from several different problems in their lives. In spite of the fact that the novel The Catcher in the Rye and the film The Outsiders took place in very different times and even though there is a huge difference between the problems that characters Holden and Dallas deal with, they have lots of similar reactions towards these problems, such as the

Boyhood embodies coming of age where the director Richard Linklater with Mason Junior, Olivia (Mason’s mother), Mason senior (Mason’s father and Olivia’s ex-husband), Samantha (Mason’s sister) builds an emotional saga which enumerates individual emotions and relationships. Linklater made film history by shooting the motion picture for 4-5 days (consistently) for the traverse of 12 years just to draw out the progression of time. Pulp Fiction, a gangster film centred around crime and drama, was directed and written by Quentin Tarantino, staring John Travolta, Uma Thurman and Samuel Jackson. The Oscar award winning film details the lives of two hitmen, a gangster, and the gangster’s wife Jules Winnfield (Samuel Jackson) and Vincent Vega (John Travolta), are on a mission to retrieve a stolen briefcase from their employer, and mob boss, Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames). Mia, (Uma Thurman) plays the role as Wallace’s wife, who is spends some time with Vincent, while Wallace leaves town for business purposes. The 1995 film adaptation of Sense and Sensibility, directed by Ang Lee and originally written by Jane Austen, has timeless elements in its composition. Starring Emma Thompson, also the screenwriter, and Kate Winslet as Elinor and Marianne Dashwood, the movie tells of two heroines and their struggle between balancing idealism and reality. As young, female adolescents of the 1800s, they are responsible for finding husbands that can support them financially; and following their father’s death and loss of money, this becomes even more emphasized. But, they come to struggle when having to choose between what their hearts crave, and what their minds know is best. If the legal drinking age should be lowered or stay the same is an issue that is constantly talked about. One side thinks that the law is counterproductive and can cause underage teens to binge drink. While the other side believe that the law saves lives and it would be dangerous to lower the drinking age. Both sides have research and statistics to back up their position. Many who disagree with the drinking age believe that when someone can pay taxes or enlist in the military they should be able to make their own decisions about drinking. On the contrary the opposing side believes that the legal drinking age of 21 causes less alcohol related deaths.

From the movie choice given, I have choose The Shawshank Redemption. This movie is a 1994 America film directed by Frank Darabont based on Stephen King’s short story “Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption”

The Intern is a movie based About The Fit, a new fashion company, Jules Ostin (played by Anne Hathaway) is the founder and CEO of this company. Ben Whittaker (Robert De Niro) joins this company as a senior intern. Ben is retired, a widower and seventy-years-old. After multiple interviews Ben is hired and is assigned to work with Jules, and almost immediately told by Jules that she doesn’t need him. After patiently waiting for Jules to ask him to do something Ben takes initiative and decides to help others around the office. This included cleaning a desk that was irritating Jules, and this is when Jules properly acknowledges Ben’s capabilities and persistency. These movie bad boys have captured the hearts of their onscreen lovers and the hearts of many viewers. Their struggle to find a job persists as they are out of touch with the age of technology and lack necessary skills. On a whim, Billy finds an application for a summer internship at Google. The two are accepted into the program based on their unusual answers to the interview rather than based on their level of skill. The two are the only members of the internship who are not of the college age and soon join a team of rejects; Stuart, who is constantly glued to his phone screen, Yo-Yo Santos, a stereotypical Asian-American boy who was home schooled by his overbearing Asian mother; and Neha, an Indian-American girl who is majorly enthusiastic.
