The book Divergent is set in a futuristic world with new technologies and fascinating scenery. The author has an ability to capture everything in sight, to give you elaborate details of what going on around each scene of the book. The dialogue in this book gives you a feeling of being a character in the book itself. There are many unexpected twist and turns in this book and it definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat. The characters in this book all seem to have unique backgrounds and it exciting to keep reading this book so that you can understand each character. When they got to the headquarters, they had to get through several Dauntless soldiers. During the cross fire, Tris’s father died. I instantly felt upset for Tris since she lost both her parents in one day. Through Tris knew that she had to move on and quickly find Jeanie to stop the plan. When she found Jeanie, Four was also there. He had been injected with a serum that made him think that Tris was an enemy. Tris and Four fight each other and she is eventually able to get though to him. They were able to get Jeanie to stop whatever she was trying to do and get all of the Dauntless soldiers out of the simulation. The book ends with Tris, Four, Caleb, and Christina on a train heading towards their new journey. I really enjoyed one part of the book when Tris did the zip lining and when the author gave rich descriptions about the futuristic Chicago. The author is able to leave the end of this book suspenseful so that you feel the need to read the next book. There was time where I felt like I could not put the book down. There were shocking moments mixed in throughout the book. This book helps me build this futuristic Chicago in my head. This book had romance, violence, and some humor at times, which made the book interesting and
