With the changes seen in the economy, war & leaders, the Glorious Revolution of 1688 can be considered a part of the Enlightenment. Evidence shown through historical documents proves this stance. Although some historical events during the Glorious Revolution refute my stance, the Glorious Revolution was indeed a part of the Enlightenment because of the major shifts England had during and after this time period: Influencers, Religious tolerance and changes in governmental policies. Stated in the English Bill of Rights which were passed by Parliament and ratified by William III-King of England. “That the pretended power of suspending the laws or the execution of laws by royal authority without consent of Parliament is illegal”(Doc.3)
As described in Document 1, the woman says that she has learned to knit and make stockings for the servants. She feels kind of like a slave, because she has to stay at home with hardly any freedoms. DBQ: Political Disputes 1820-1860 For forty-four years, the United States of America was a thriving country. We had won our independence from Great Britain and we had started to create a country that would change the world. Yet, in the year 1860, a joined country and political agreement between all states seemed utterly impossible. People fought with each other so deeply about slavery, the country was divided between slave and free states. By the time of 1820 through 1860, political disagreement grew so large, there had been only one answer.
The connotation of the word terror has changed drastically from the 18th century to now due to the prominent terrorist groups, such as ISIS, in today’s society. This is due to the fact that in the 18th century terror most prominently meant the act of inflicting terror upon others, while today terror is often associated with acts of terrorism. Rediker states that there were two types of terror during the “golden age”, including terror conducted by the states and terror inflicted by the pirates. The buildup of states and pirates being portrayed as terrorists was inevitable due to the self interests of colonial empires. The beginning of pirates being seen as terrorist is evident in Document one by Excellencies Command Isaac Addington.
Napoleon Bonaparte must have been an extraordinary chess player. Throughout the french revolution he took every minute detail and thoroughly established it in a comprehensive manner. Napoleon came at a time of turmoil. As an economic crisis stalked france, the peasants began to revolt because of the unruly oppression they were being dealt. Napoleon longed to be the glue that needed to be put in place in order for the country to strive.
Elizabeth I, Queen of England from 1558-1603, brought much success and political stability to England during her reign. However, the ideas about gender at the time greatly influenced her rule. With the views of the religious peoples during Elizabeth’s reign leaning towards negativity about a woman ruler, Elizabeth I responded to these challenges against her ability to rule wisely with sophisticated anger and strong leadership, while not responding to the challenges to her authority as a religious leader. Europe in Dark Age Before you say “Europe was never in a dark age.” think of the middle ages right after the fall of Rome, in The Crusades or The Black Death. These are just examples of why Europe was in a dark age. The phrase dark age means unsightly and dreadful, the term comes from Francesco Petrarch, he was an Italian scholar who compared Europe to Asia. The dark ages lasted 500 AD to 1500 AD.

But, her mother introduced the Catholic church and teachings to Joan, to which she enjoyed.
In times of fear and hysteria in the U.S. it is mass chaos and it only gets worse and worse. During the time of both the witch-hunt eras, whether for communist or actual witches, they prove to have many similarities between them. Both of these times were full of confusion and lying which lead to the temporary downfall of the authority at that time. Joseph McCarthy proved to be a factor in this time and add on to the chaos that was America. Arthur Miller wrote about these times in a book called The Crucible, based on the witch trial era.
Late 19th Century and early 20th Century expansionism was a clear continuation of earlier 19th century Manifest Destiny displaying the ideals of God and westward expansion, and the use of aggression. Manifest Destiny was the God-Given right for the American people to expand westward. Once we did expand to our full country today of America, our expansion was not done. It was time for America to expand out of its contiguous region and become an imperialist nation. Leaders like Josiah Strong, believed it was the God-Given right to spread the Anglo-Saxon culture, and Beveridge, believed we needed to expand our markets and for more opportunities.
The Mongols, one of the fiercest and most savage groups of humans to ever exist. The 13th century was home to this group of people, who resided in the grasslands of central Asia. The Mongols were illiterate warriors, who depended on horses as a means of travel. Although being illiterate, the Mongols are said to be one of the most ferocious peoples, conquering more than four million square miles of land. The Mongols were, undoubtedly, overwhelmingly barbaric.
1920’s DBQ The 1920’s were a period of tension between the traditionalists and modernists. The tension between these two groups was aroused by the economical advancements, social developments, and cultural changes in the 1920s. These tensions were manifested by the economic outburst and the passing of certain laws.
Modern China is simply a recycled version of old China because it follows the same political patterns as when China was governed by an emperor and because of the boundaries and restrictions it created, and continue to create. One of the main reasons China is just a recycled version of its old self, is that it continues to follow the same political patterns as it did when the government was controlled by emperors’. For example, the old style of government followed the Dynastic Cycle, where emperors ruled over all without question or opposition (Doc 1/painting). Alexander the great crucified two thousand defeated soldiers and sold thirty thousand into slavery (Doc C). Alexander the great was born in 356 B.C.E and he was taught by a Greek philosopher, Aristotle (BGE). Alexander's father was assassinated in 336 B.C.E and Alexander took over at the age of twenty (BGE). He used his military skills to conquer most of the known world until he died in 323 B.C.E, and his empire soon followed the same fate (BGE). Was Alexander the Great great?
Europe was marked by the ongoing passing of the culture that was believed to be “medieval”. During the late Middle Ages around the early fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, the medieval society started to decline. During the fourteenth century, it saw a period which crop failures were rampant, drastic decline in population and revolts by the poor. This period also saw the decline of the papacy, which led to the disintegration of Christian thinkers during the High Middle Ages. Due to all the happenings within the High Middle Ages, it saw a period of continuous conflicts known as the Hundred Years War.
