Is the end of any short story that important? In any short story you will find five elements, which they are very important to have a form of a short story. 1st Setting, which tell us time and place to set your mind on a situation. 2nd character, it could be a person or an animal that does they action according to their personality.3rd Plot, which is a big series of actions that are made by the character and it have a climax or peck which the highest point where everything falls to the end.4th point of view, which is the main point of the story.5th the end, where the actions end either in a good or a bad way. The end is absolutely an important thing in any story; there are two types of endings an end which is open for the reader’s imagination and another which actually tells the end. Usually people remember the begging and the end of any story, because writers make it interesting for the reader so they usually don’t remember the details inside the story except for the begging, peck and the end. Endings can be different from one another just like in those stories “Thank you Ma’am” and “After Twenty Years” I will compare those two endings …show more content…

Me as a college student I really enjoy hearing stories that have purpose just like those two short stories. An end in stories doesn’t have to be with a very happy one, in “After Twenty Years” those two friends didn’t met in the way we thought it would be one of them was arrested. Also in “Thank You Ma’am” the end was a happy one Roger felt grateful for all what Mrs Jones did to him. Writers will always make such a memorable ending so everyone would remember it. If the ending is not with a great one it will be boring and people will feel like they wasted their time on something that is not even close to be worth it. People love exciting endings or unexpected one that makes them wonder all the time what is going to
