1.0 INTRODUCTION
Islam is a religion exposed by God for all people, in all places, at all times. As such, Islam is open to everybody and is mostly mindful of the importance of respect, rights, and responsibilities. These unique rights specified in Islam also cover the rights of children. Children’s rights are not certain by the actions of their parents, their communities, or even their governments. God Himself guarantees children’s rights. Loving for and raising children in the appropriate manner is an obligation on parents and it is not always easy. In fact, God retells us in the Quran that children may even be a great trial for their parents. The achievements and tribulations of life are a test and children are no exception.
Firstly, it has to be recognized that the very concept of “Islamic childhood” is a difficult perception due to the wide range of cultural, economic, and social diversities that occur within the Islamic countries, and the fact that the so-called Islamic childhood is constructed and reconstructed, being influenced by such a variety of great

Al-Azhar University states the Islam affirms such as a child’s right to health and life. A child’s right to a family, kindred, name, property and inheritance. A child’s right to healthcare and proper nutrition. A child’s right to education and the acquisition of talents. A child’s right to live in security and peace, and enjoy human dignity and protection under the responsibility of the parents. Furthermore, the caring role of society and the state to provision all these rights and provision families unable of providing suitable surroundings for their children. The Islamic Shariah states all of these rights, which are obvious in the Quran and the sublime Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad through his sayings and activities. They explain on how to care, develop and protect the children in
Children are all different, from their size, skin colour, where they come from, and how they are treated at home and school. Why would countries want to all be the same? Canada and Brazil do not have the same laws, and neither do Kenya and South Korea. Just because healthcare is free in Canada does not mean it will be free in every other country in the world. If you have the privilege to go to school where you live, there will always be other kids who don’t have the privilege to have an education.
The crusades were a huge thing in the medieval times. They lasted for hundreds of years and people believed it was their religious duty to fight, because they thought it would please God. They were also promised access to heaven, by the pope. The crusades involved three main religions Christianity, Judaism and Islam. I believe that the muslims were more to blame for the crusades, because they posed the first threat, and because they killed and sold many into slavery.
Islam started in Mecca during the time of the powerful prophet Muhammad. Through military conquest, trade, and pilgrimages, Arab Muslims forces gained vast territories over time. Muslims inherited countless costumes from Greece, Rome, and India. Also they would adopted new advances in mathematics, astronomy and Muslims. This includes Greece, Rome, and India.
Furthermore, this view on children’s rights and listening to their voices has been supported by Graham, & Fitzgerald, (2010) who are of the opinion that the participation of children in research on matters that affect and concern them is of great essence and should therefore not be neglected. Engaging children through dialogue as Graham, & Fitzgerald, (2010) noted is important as it helps in exploring in depth issues that affect children. It is also important, as noted by all the authors of the various articles correlating to that of O'Dea, (2008), that relevant authority and institutions should be at the forefront in promoting children’s rights. Equality for all children should be a practice in conducting research on issues that affect children as it will help
A key underlying commitment ratified by a number of governments is the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. This Convention has 54 articles that cover all aspects of a child’s life and set out the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights that all children everywhere are entitled to. It also explains how adults and governments must work together to make sure all children can enjoy all their rights. Many of the principles from this have been incorporated into statutory law.
The misrepresentations and stereotypes given by the non-Muslims are totally contrary to the real teaching of Islam as it highly promotes gender equality. Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. is proven to be very adamant in empowering and elevating the status of women after they were discriminated and exploited by men years before the revelation of the Holy Quran. As female infanticide, prostitution and other exploitation of women were common in the seventh century before hijrah, during Prophet Muhammad’s lifetime, he argued that the birth of a girl is a blessing, and they are not property or subjected to anyone as they are equally human as the men. Prophet Muhammad then outlined several rights for the women such as the right in inheritance, the right in
Schools and organisations must have a safeguarding policy which is reviewed and updated regularly. This is so that staff are aware on what to do is they think a child needs protection. Safeguarding is a general term which is being used which encompasses a number of aspects of which child protection is one, overall the aim of Safeguarding is the well-being of the child. Child protection within the family environment Providing a child with a safe and healthy family environment is very important for their well-being and is seen as child protection in the sense what if the parents cannot look after the child, feed them, clothe them and keep them safe from harm within the house then this is a danger to the child’s life.
Some people might argue that a child’s upbringing forms the child’s foundation of life. It forms the child’s identity and its view of life. The upbringing of children is a wide concept because it is never the same. The question is if there is an edge between upbringing and torture. The intention of upbringing is indisputable – you want your children to have a great life and a great future, but perchance certain ways of educating children can cause more damage than good.
There are roughly 1.8 million muslims in our world today. How did this happen? How is 24% of our world’s population based on Islam? In the year 610 CE, a young merchant trader went to pray and heard the words of Allah from the angel Gabriel. After some resistance, Muhammed decided to spread the words and the birth of Islam began.
After the classical period the Islamic civilization showed an advancement in a variety of different aspects of their culture. They adopted a lot of it from earlier civilizations but had had a massive contribution on their part. The effect of this is that the Muslim culture and intellectual ideas were very long lasting. The achievements of the Islamic empires contributed to the development of their Golden Age.
From this, we can see that women in the Islamic world had protection and were not always treated miserably. So, Quran did not just provide restrictions for women, it also brought rights and protections. In China, female infanticide was common. while the Quran forbidden it for Muslims. Because Quran was quite clear that men and women were equal, female infanticide as a means of gender selection was not needed.

The United Nations brought in the Convention of the Rights of the Child 1989 which sets out the rights of children. Included in these rights are the right to an education, the right to privacy and the right to be protected from physical harm, abuse and exploitation. In Arab societies, family comes first of and above everything. Family is considered as the core of society. So, it is a holly matter that each member of the family must do her or his best to protect the reputation of the family. According to Rashad, Osman and Roudi-Fahimi (2005), “marriage for Arabs is thus both an individual and a family matter.”

The author finds that kids hanging with maids for a long period affects the may they think as most often hey have a different religion and they speak a different language and that might have a negative effect on the kids. In his article Fakhri discusses how badly maids are treated in kuwait. He says they are insulted and humiliated to do things that are beyond what they are supposed to do.
