Currently, English language is one of the most used languages on the world. Mastering its grammar is the key for successful communication between people. On the learning process, English language learners often make grammatical errors. That goes back to the fact that there are still in their learning process. In Arabic countries, many things interfere with second language learners' while learning the target language. On this essay, I am going to give some examples of the common errors I identified from one of my classmates’ academic writings. I am going to explain the reasons behind the errors’ repetition and to give some suggestions for future improvement. English language learners make errors unconsciously as their first language interferes strongly on their learning process. One of the errors accrued on my classmate's' writing is the lack of using the articles. Articles are (a, an, and the). They have to be written before the noun. It is required to use ‘a’ or ‘an’ in front of singular noun which is indefinite. When the noun is specific ‘the’ is used in front of it. We can use ‘the’ for plurals as well.. Some examples of the errors my classmate made while writing her assignment are "… the phonological and grammatical aspects of the language by age of five or six years old”, “Another known …show more content…
Most of the errors are results from the lack of knowledge about it. "Errors in second language learning, it is sometimes said, could be avoided if we were to make a comparison of the learner's mother tongue and the target language" (Richards,1971). The instructors have to give extra materials about subject and verbs and how do they form sentences. Students have to read their sentence after writing it and then to identify each subject and its verb and to put a full stop when the sentence ends. Reading is going to be a good solution here as
In “Ethos and Error: How Business People React to Errors”, Larry Beason (2016) demonstrates how academic mistakes affect both students and teachers, especially business people. Beason’s main argument is that errors influence seriously on nonacademic audiences, not only in common reading but also in normal life. To prove his point of view, Beason does his experiment on fourteen business people reading articles about business and everyday handwriting and see how they react. Beason divides his examination into two phases: a survey with twenty mistakes and an interview with everyone. In the questionnaire, the author introduces five common academic errors and each of them consists four examples.

However, since I was successful in this lab course, it would not be until Winter Quarter when I fully recognized this flaw in Writing 39B. Enduring my chaotic and unproductive process of writing the Rhetorical Analysis Essay and Rhetoric in Practice Final Project has greatly influenced and improved the way I conduct my writing process in general. The specifics of my writing process and how it has evolved will be expanded upon in the following chapter. In the end, learning the importance of having an efficient drafting process and starting my assignments in a timely manner has improved my performance in my other classes; especially lab. I now start my lab reports earlier, focusing on making them more organized, detailed, and well-written.

This article also addresses what academic writing is and how thinking critically allows us to understand what academic writing is. If I had to make a list with all of my grammar issues, my number one would be “articles”. For an ESL student, it is really difficult to understand when I should use an article and what articles should be used. Thus, articles such as “a” and “the”, are tricky for me. Another challenge for me is
Then, main issue for Mr. Honda is that the place where he is currently working at which is the Nishi High has been assigned the duty of editing the text in textbook and resubmit it to the publisher. As a head of the English department, he wanted to make sure everything is fine without mistake. He asked Scott to do him this favour by helping the school to repair some errors in the textbook. A writing error is a point in a piece of writing where the author unknowingly creates a moment of confusion for the reader in such a way that it detracts from the piece’s meaning. A writing mistake sounds like something that is more of an “oopsie” that the writer created something that wasn’t exactly what they were trying to articulate, but they are able to realize it was a mistake when they evaluate it. I guess what drives the two apart is the fact that errors, even upon further reading, don’t jump out to the writer as being inaccurate. Whether they be mistakes or errors, it’s important for a tutor to understand the root of these inaccuracies in ESL papers. Minett discusses “contrastive rhetoric” and how writing faux pas may actually be
