The current framework also consists of the 7 areas of learning. Communication and language is the first area of learning. It says in the EYFS that communication and language is all about giving children opportunities to experience a rich language environment; to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves; and to speak and listen in a range of situations. Children are learning and competence in communicating, speaking and listening, beginning to read and write must be supported and extended. Here, the child would be dependant on the practitioner to provide the child with the correct resources when they are at nursery and also to provide the correct help for the child (i.e. a speech and language specialist if needed) and advice for the parent. However not only is the child dependent on the practitioner but their
Early childhood education generally means an education before the child start of formal schooling or before the age they required to attend the school. It is crucial stage of life in development the physical, intellectual, emotional and social lifestyle of the children. For the basic education method the approach must base on their prior knowledge and practice is called “constructivism”. Social constructivism is the one of the theories of learning and pedagogy that had the utmost impact on tutoring and curriculum design because they seem to be the most conducive to integration into current educational approaches.
For children and young people to develop positive relationships it is crucial for adults to model effective communication in the classroom. As a teacher or teaching assistant, you have the platform to facilitate social learning and lead by example.
EYE37WB-2.1 Describe areas of learning and development within the current framework which relate to school readiness.
Identifying early that a child has a delay in speech, language and communication is very important, as a child will struggle to communicate effectively if support is not put in place immediately to encourage the child in these areas. This could then lead to issues relating to their behaviour due to frustration and poor social skills. A child may also struggle to understand basic information and their learning at school could be affected resulting in poor academic attainment.
Recent studies have shown that the water in Flint, Michigan has been contaminated by a horrible health impact, lead. This has happened because nearly two years ago, the state of Michigan decided to save money by switching Flint’s water supply from Lake Huron, to the Flint River a notorious tributary that runs through town known to locals for its filth. This has led to many terrible effects shown in both children and adults. The many effects lead has on children and adults are very drastic if not taken care of properly they could have lifetime effects.
Have you ever been in a situation where the opposite sex just doesn’t understand you? There’s constantly miscommunication between women and men. Sometimes women have non-verbal q’s that men don’t understand. In some cases women want men to automatically know what they are trying to say, feel or think. Even with men, they want women to automatically know what they are saying with little words or sometimes with just a gesture.
In my three activities I plan to help develop a 1 year old’s holistic development, which includes their social, physical, emotional, cognitive and linguistic development, but I will primarily be focusing on their physical development. Normative is defined as, “Establishing, relating to, or deriving from a standard or norm, especially of behaviour” (Oxford Dictionary) which means a child is tracked by when they meet milestones and if they meet them at a normal rate they have normative development. This relates to my activities as the information gathered from the observations of my activity could be used to judge whether or not the child is meeting their physical development milestones. Holistic development means the development of the child
The different aspects of children's development are interlinked and co-dependent, so they will each be important to the child's holistic development. Children's overall development and educational needs will be affected by the way in which they develop in key areas. As children grow and pass different milestones or key points, they will gradually become more independent and less reliant on those around them in preparation for the future. The three key areas of children's development are personal, social and emotional, physical, and speech and language development-the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework refers to them as the three prime areas, (speech and language
Humans are made to connect to one another. Babies are born with the innate capacity to form attachments, but this nature can only develop with a devoted and responsive caregiver. The formation of attachment occurs in supportive and shared relationship the reciprocity of thoughts and feelings. Babies with unresponsive caregivers are deprived of the emotional and social signals of attachment. As they grow older, they have more cognitive, social, and behavioral difficulties opposed to those whose caregivers are receptive of their needs. When I have children, I will take these aspects into consideration as I balance my time between work and raising a child. I want to make my children the priority and make sure they have the strong foundation to cultivate relationships as they mature.
SOCIAL WORKER - The intervention of social worker is required when the child 's family do not function properly. It means that environment in which kid develops is not compatible with his needs. This person has to make a control in this kind of family and check if there are no pathological situations. If there is something wrong, the social worker has to notify social services.
Lastly, read. Start while they are young and as in the words of McCullough, “read, read, read!” (McCullough, p 4). Books are essential, and have a huge impact on a person. Reading, when done properly, can allow for escape from reality. It challenges our thinking, and helps us to grow as we see different sides and views. Its comprehension allows us to train the brain to retain information and make connections, allowing the information to become a part of us. After reading, McCullough tells us to “talk about what we are reading” and that from this exercise we will “learn a lot” (McCullough, p 4). By discussing what we read, we receive other ideas and viewpoints about the material. Not only that, when discussing with our children we can
Physical development this can have an emotional effect on the child or children because if they do something good then they will get praised, and it will have a positive effect on them and will make them happy. Although, the child or children’s social development could also be affected because if they have got a physical disability- e.g. – wheelchair, then they will find it really hard to participate in most and certain physical activities for example- football, tennis and it will also make it harder to form friendships because if the child doesn’t take part in any new games, and which could make them really angry and frustrated because they are unable to participate in things like the other children and this could affect their self-confidence
To begin with Rightway Auto Repair is a family operated business that provides full service automobile mechanical repairs to its customers. The family decided to enter into this business venture as entrepreneurs who noticed the opportunity and took responsibility for providing for its resources. Hence it opened its first store in the year 2008 with one employee and two service bays.
I ended up on the final part of art activity and found Denis (not child’s real name) interested in the process of comparing the results of drawing and asking his friend why the wings of his bird did not fit into the page. He asked: Is this the way it should be? Why are they so small? And what is this bird? and so on….
