The same time of his first inaugural address the country was going through a depression and America’s economy was terrible. Franklin D. Roosevelt introduced ways and means to fix the nation from the aftermath of the great depression in his speech. Franklin D. Roosevelt addresses the nation’s problems such as the amount of people who are unemployed, cannot pay the high taxes, and families that do not have savings. The purpose of Franklin D.
