Tito was concern about nutting happening to his son. He didn’t want his son going to school In the Bronx because of the problems he had in the streets. Tito beef was so serious in the Bronx that he had one of his gang members drive Steven to school and, pick him up as well. His grades in school weren’t good at all because of the life environment he lived in. Steven was mostly raised by his mother because his father was mostly in prison.
George Lopez The Comedian George Lopez is an Mexican-American comedian. When he was eleven years old he watched Freddie Prinze perform and instantly knew that he wanted to become a comedian. Now more than 30 years later he is a well know stand-up comedian, and also known for his television and film comedies. George Lopez growing up with Mexican grandparents influenced his comedic take, while his use of personal experiences and repetition make his jokes funny, and the fact the his audience can relate makes him a successful comedian.
Oscar de la Hoya was born February 4, 1973, into a very poor and tough neighborhood in East Los Angeles. Sometimes De la Hoya’s family didn’t have enough money for food. There were also lots of street gangs and drug dealers. His father decided to give him some boxing lessons to help adapt to the neighborhood he lived in. Boxing was very big in Oscar de la Hoya’s family.

His early interest in photography started when one day his older brother, Frank, told him that he would give him his Diana Camera if he got a base hit in one of his games. Tremaine Townsend, born December 11, 1986 at Sharps Hospital, San Diego, CA, he is my only son, I decided to write about someone who is near and dear to my heart. I am very proud of my son he has been a blessing to me and has made me so proud to be a father. Tremaine was always an exceptional basketball player. He played first string his freshman and sophomore year at North High School here in Phoenix, AZ. During that time Tremaine grew maybe a couple of inches, from 5’10” to 6’0” tall, no major growth spurt but that summer Tremaine grew 6 inches, now that is major.

Emmitt Perry Jr., best known as Tyler Perry, is an actor, comedian, producer, and screen writer and so on. Born on September 14, 1969, he was raised in New Orleans by his mother, Maxine Campbell and father, Emmitt Perry Sr. Being raised in a Christian setting, as he grew up, he made sure to incorporate his religion into his future work, which made him the person he is today. Growing up, he was extremely close with his mother, but his relationship with his father was very strained. Even though his father was a carpenter and worked hard everyday and was barely home, he was abusive to Tyler and by him being abused, he went into a state of depression.
The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao written by Junot Díaz bases of a curse known as the fukú. In the novel the characters revolve around an extreme belief that the fukú manages their lives, especially in Oscar’s life. Oscar, a Dominican boy, changes his life negatively by failing the Dominican lifestyle for several years until dying with an achievement. A ‘typical’ Dominican guy would be able to get girls and by accomplishing that he would gain respect. When Oscar was young, he was confident in reaching the Dominican lifestyle and were respected.
Richard by the age of six had already become an alcoholic because when he went to the saloon he could fill his stomach with alcohol and quench his appetite. A year after this incident, Richard explains that, “Hunger was with us always”(pg.28). Richard associates hunger with his father as hunger continues to follow Richard throughout his adolescence from the moment his family fell apart and his mother was left to fend for herself and her children. Part of the reason Richard does not have enough food is because blacks in the South could not get high paying jobs like Ella, his mother, would need in order to support her family properly. Unfortunately for Richard, his mother ends up sending Richard and his brother to an orphanage until she can make more money to care for him.
