They say that it is to expensive. They will want to save up for different stuff like more clubs. There is a lot of good benefits why we should have school sports. One reasons schools shouldn’t close school sports because active kids are more focused. “According to a 2013 report from the Institute of Medicine, physically active kids are more focus than other kids.” This proves that stepping away from your books and going to practice can sharpen your brain.
Fees are good for school sports because the money that parents pay for their child to play a sport goes towards equipment for that sport. In the text, it said “ A lack of money has forced some schools to charge students and parents for courses and books. Free books and classes are more important than free sports programs. Schools should charge students for sports before they make them pay for books and classes. After all, education should come first at schools.
The College for All Act directs the Department of Education to award grants to states to eliminate tuition and required fees at public institutions of higher education. Bernie believes because school educational cost is so costly, numerous families and individuals are forced to cut back on spending and either save money for their children’s
For years schools have bonded through sports programs, now they think they should get rid of them. Being a student in school is harder that it has ever been. The academic standards are so high, it can feel paralyzing. That's why it is so important for schools to invest in sports programs now and in the future. Schools should keep sports programs because sports relieve stress on kids and makes kids look forward to going to school.
These students lead to believe that they will be compensated for their abilities with a quality education that will be paid for with scholarship funds. Instead they often find that they participate in a minimal academic program to allow for excessive hours of practice and travel for sports participation. While scholarships may cover the majority of the scholastic financial burden they do not account for the cost of living for an unemployed student athlete. The National Collegiate Athletic Association profits millions of dollars off the skills of it’s players and until recently was not required to share any of this monetary gain with these students. Careful consideration should be given to rulings prohibiting student athletes from receiving financial reimbursement for collegiate play.
Lastly, did you know colleges spend about $100,000 per player, per YEAR. As crazy as it seems, that amount is not taking into account scholarships. Essentially select schools are spending upwards of $150,000 a year, with scholarships, for some players. If a college did decide to play its football players that would be easy right, just pay the players... Well not so much. First of all if you decided to play the football players you would have to pay all the players of what is considered “major sports”.
The reason being is because college is just simply to expensive. College students make roughly $1,400 a month and about $10, 200 every year. $10,00 dollars isn’t nearly enough money to pay for four or more years of college. “Making college free would have one additional benefit: It would drive the for-profit schools out of business. They now enroll 13 percent of those currently attending American colleges, or 2 million students.” Radical Futures stated in their article, making tuition free will drive people to go to college.
(Weller 3). This is a problem because it takes away quality family time from students, which is essential for their well-being. Thirdly, a second benefit is that the year-round schooling system helps solve the problem of overcrowding. (Zubrzycki 1). Lowering these distractions in the hallways will also dismiss academic distractions. It has the possibility to boost gpas. Removing students preforming these acts will also improve student’s mindset, who do not perform these acts. Lessening tension felt in school by reducing stressed students from dangerous people or the possibility of being peer pressured into drugs. This will over all improve the function of the school, and its popularity among students who only want to go to school for an education.
This should be a clear reason why sports should be gone because schools pay 2x as much on a small percent of the student body whereas, all students take math classes. Schools can save so much money by closing down sports. For example, a Texas school district, that is $400,000 in debt and on the verge of closing , can save $150,000 by
