The mission of the Glendale Fire Department is to protect life and property by providing the highest level of service to the community. Built in 1994, Station twenty one emodies their statement to excellence. Affectionally known to the fire fighters as "The Hammer House", Glendale fire station twenty one has a commanding presence with its dual stories and the largest apparatus floor out of all the other of glendales stations. The offices are home to all of glendales administrative needs, and with a third of the building dedicated to such, those needs are well met. anyone from the arson investigators to the fire chief himself can be found walking the halls. With over 72,000 calls a year, the verdugo dispatch is the heart of operations at station 21. Founded on August 1, 1979, the verdugo FCC was set up to consolidate fire dispatching and telecommunications between the citys of pasadena, glendale, and burbank. the verdugo fcc is run under the joint powers of authority by the fire chiefs of these three citys. since it 's foundation, the verdugo dispatch center has added 10 more citys to include : Bob Hope Airport, South Pasadena, San Marino, San Gabriel, Arcadia, Monrovia, Sierra Madre, Montebello, Alhambra and Monterey Park, making them a regional dispatch center. Serving 13 citys and its citizens 24 hours a day is a demanding workload. With all the advances in fire technology and safety, station twenty one seems to be at the forefront. the ability to embrace, adapt, and strive for better makes this station a great place to visit. From the verdugo dispatch, to the apparatus, and the living amentities that make working there seem so enjoyable, this station is in a level all its own. with what the future holds for fire science no one quite knows. i can tell you the hammer house will be around for a long time and will continue pushing itself to become better in order to protect life and property by providing the highest level of service to the community
What is inspiration? That question went through my mind when my teacher told me about this project. It really got me thinking about who has inspired me that 's something you just don 't think of, but then I got to thinking and I thought my grandpa. Jud Reincke my grandpa was born and raised in Marshall where he stayed his whole life, married about 60 years,had three kids Mark,Mike,and my dad Norm Reincke. Jud later had four grand kids Matt ,Laurie ,my brother Trace,and me.

The fire service has made tremendous strides over the years, including when Ben Franklin founded the Union Fire Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1736, which was the first volunteer fire company. Since then there have been many great leaders who have led the fire service to be what it is today. One person who is most well-known for their impact on the fire service is Chief Alan Brunacini; also known by his friends and coworkers as “Bruno” (Foskett, 2020). In this first assignment, I will try to demonstrate several areas where the trend of hiring greater educated firefighters did affected not only our training division but also the relationship between generations within our composite department. In the last ten years, our department took the approach that hiring educated firefighters from a recognize Fire School Academy would possibly be a better strategies for our small department. I for myself believe in education in the fire service, if not, why would I have registered in this program. In reality, this is where our department started to struggle. First, the minimum requirement to become a volunteer firefighter with our Department is Level 1 under NFPA-1001.
