The Assassination of John Lennon
On the night of December 8th, 1980 a legend was assassinated. His name was no other than John Winston Ono Lennon, an English singer and songwriter who co-founded the Beatles, Which was the most commercially successful band in the history of popular music ( Wikipedia).With fellow member Paul McCartney, he formed a celebrated songwriting partnership. The assassination of John Lennon was unjustified and justified because Lennon did nothing wrong to deserve his early death. Even though what Lennon said,” The Beatles are more popular than Jesus”, Chapman took it as blasphemy because he was a very religious man. He also enraged with Lennon because he believed he was very flamboyant.

As Lennon and Ono walked to a limousine they were approached by several people seeking autographs. Among them was Mark David Chapman. Chapman, a 25-year-old security guard from Honolulu, Hawaii, had previously travelled to New York to murder Lennon in October, but he changed his mind and returned home. Chapman silently handed Lennon a copy of Double Fantasy (one of his albums) and Lennon obliged with an autograph. After signing the album, Lennon asked, “Is this all you want?” Chapman smiled and nodded in agreement.

John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the 35th president of the United States, was assassinated on November 22, 1963 by Lee Harvey Oswald, (History.com 1). He was riding in a car around Dallas Texas, beside his wife Jacqueline Kennedy, when he was shot 3 times, (JFKLibrary. Org 1).
Its August sixth, 1945. Paul Tibbets, the pilot of the Enola Gay, drops the bomb named ¨Little Boy¨ on Hiroshima. The citizens of Japan had never expected something as extensive as a bomb. The japanese were nowhere near aware of what was going to happen that day, and they had no idea of how much pain and suffering it would inflict. Three days later Charles Sweeney flew in the Enola Gay to Nagasaki, where the bomb ¨Fat Man¨ was dropped.
Music has brought humans together for century's. Woodstock was no different, it might not have gone to plan but it brought people together. The event was seen by most as a dirty,drug filled, hippie gathering and others, well the others were the ones who went to Woodstock. Some things wood stock faced such as a struggle to land a solid venue, keep customers from camping out, and even get performers to stage is what made this concert so special.

Before The Beatles became a band they were individual musicians all with people they looked up to and all with musicians they wanted to take certain traits form. Having four members of the band created a wide variety of influences on the band as a whole by combining the individual members pervious musical repertoire. Starting with George Harrison, his guitar work was influenced by American rockabilly music by Eddie Cochran and Carl Perkins that influenced the band’s songs throughout the years. He also incorporated the melodic lines and slight fills that both Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton created. John Lennon was a huge fan of Elvis, his opinion implied that the there was no true music before Elvis’s time.
In 1968, both Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert Kennedy were assassinated, leaving the United State in a state of uncertainty. With a nation in need, the Woodstock Music and Art fair arose in 1969, standing against the background of the past year (Evans and Kingbur 20). Max Yasgur, a dairy farmer who leased his farm to the Woodstock promoters, once said to the millions of fans at the festival, “The important thing that you've proven to the world is that... a half a million young people can get together and have three days of fun and music and have nothing but fun and music, and I God Bless You for it!” (Gerdes 4), and that is exactly what the crowd of more than 400,000 fans did.

I) Introduction: Hello everyone today I will speak to you about an English rock band who most of you have heard off, “The Beatles”. They were one of the biggest musical icons in history. The band consisted of 4 legends: John Lennon (guitar), George Harrison (guitar), Paul McCartney (bass) and Ringo Starr (drums).
Since February of 1964 when the beatles showed their music to the souls of America, everyone was hooked. The Beatles transformed not just the United States form of music but the entire world’s perspective on Rock and Roll; by their attitudes, style and sound. John Lennon and Paul McCartney are very famous names that have come up in many different topics. These guys are the vocalists behind the Beatles. Lennon and McCartney wrote over 300 songs together but not all were put to music and released.
John Lennon will be forever remembered as one of the most influential artists in the history of music. His distinguishable and awe-inspiring voice has transfixed millions of music lovers. He was passionate about composing and performing music. Many regarded his music as the most important thing in his life. One April 8, 1963, however, John’s wife Cynthia gave birth to their son Julian.
In this passage, Cobain states to profiler why he was depressed without even knowing it. He compared himself to his daughter and wife. He felt incapable of ever being able to give them the life that they deserve- to take care of him.
