Success is that elusive thing that we all search for, in one form or another, at some point in our lives. Early on, we might measure success in terms of being popular in the playground, or top of the class. Later, we might have a hobby or sport we want to excel at. We might think we are successful if we have an attractive partner or lots of friends, material possessions or money in the bank. We might measure our own success through the results of others, like our children for example, or people that we help, teach and interact with. However we measure success, the point is that we do all measure it and we strive to be successful in at least one area of our lives. This may consist of methodology and theory, or more practical physical tools. It may be that training or instruction is a useful tool for you if this is an area where you still have something to learn. Direction Unless you are a true pioneer, it is highly likely that someone else has been successful in your chosen area, so find them and learn from them. Why would you waste time, energy and perhaps money, making mistakes you could avoid? Once you have mastered the basics, by all means try something new, but to begin with, learn from someone on a similar path to you, who is further ahead than you! If you can, get yourself a mentor. Someone who is prepared to invest their time in your success too. You may well have to pay for this, but it will more than pay for itself in time saved and energy not wasted.
Those who achieve success do in fact work hard; however, there are also countless other factors that play a role in one’s success. When you think of success what comes to mind? In sports it’s making it to the pros. In business it’s making your first million. In high school it can be as simple as acing that test you studied for all night. No matter what profession you are in, success is the desired goal.
A quote from Outliers says, “Practice isn't the thing you do once you're good. It's the thing you do that makes you good.” This quote shows that to reach success you must put effort into what you do. It matters because putting effort into something makes it worth it. If you don't try and learn from the process you haven’t grown in experience, so you haven’t grown much at all.

Chris was a young adventurer who loved to explore the world and all of the beauty it had to offer.
If you were to ask a few people how they measured success, most of the answers would vary. Some may state that is based on your monetary value or that it is measured by your happiness. Yet, these answers can be categorized by a broad definition: success is achieving the goal you set your mind to. Malcolm Gladwell, in his book Outliers, challenges the societal view of how success is ultimately obtained. The author states “...if you work hard enough and assert yourself, and use your mind and imagination, you can shape the world to your desires” to emphasize the importance of persistence and work ethic when looking for success (Gladwell 151).
Each and everyone has our own idea of how success looks like. But for me, success is something that you’ve worked so hard to get to that you now have pride to have or be. But success isn’t so easy to reach. There's going to be challenges and times where one thinks they won't succeed. Its when you’ve flourished to the point where you’re happy with the placement of your life.

Success seems a simple word, yet this plain word renders a large amount of individuals pay relentless endeavors. Remembering the CCTV host Wang Zhi said that success is relative, and everyone has its own standard of success. For many people, success means money, statue, reputation, and so on.
Success is a noun which comes from the latin root word, successes, meaning, "an advance, succession, happy outcome.” Success can therefore be defined as an accomplishment of a desired end (dictionary.com). Everyone has his or her own interpretation or definition of what they think success is, but in this interpretation, there is always a common goal at the end. That goal is to have a happy and good outcome. Willy Lowman’s definition of success was skewed, and for this, he did not achieve a happy and good outcome like he may have planned.
Success is found in all goals that are accomplished no matter how small or large that they are. Being successful doesn 't always mean that one must accomplish goals that are hard. To others it could be marrying the person they love. To be happy with that person for the rest of their life is a big success. Being successful at an educational standpoint would be graduating college with a degree in a future career.
What does success mean to me? It means accomplishing things in life and reaching your goals. Everyone has a different view of what success actually is. Success also means setting a goal and reaching it in a time frame you set for yourself. For example I believe finishing college and gaining a career in a field you love is being successful because it is a goal that can be achieved.
In our world, people usually associate success with either money, money, or money. Success shouldn’t be about how much money we earn, how good our job is, or how famous we are. It should be about our own personal goals and aims in life. I think everyone’s definition of success is different. For each individual, success is something that makes them feel proud.
Remember that happiness means a lot and plays a big role in how I would define success. So remember in the beginning how I said “my English teacher said How do you define success”. Well I said all the things how I define success in my own words. The things I said was good grades and having a good amount of money, achieving your goal, and happiness.
