One of the memorandum whose purpose is to stimulate awareness, documentation, and preservation of the Indian cultural and natural heritage, people benefit from culture, art, science, and technology, which should be conserved and developed. Although “cultural heritage” is not mentioned, it can be understood to be encompassed by the protocol. Over the past two decades there has been a surge of popular interest internationally in social histories, in cultural heritage, and in heritage management. The attraction of heritage places fuels the lucrative tourism industry, domestically and internationally, where visiting heritage places, museums, events and cultural festivals is a major industry. As a beginner to these initiatives we had received a generous grant in 2008 from the World Monument Fund’s Sustainable Tourism initiative sponsored by the American Express Company, which enabled us to undertake detailed studies of heritage sites along …show more content…

Heritage assets are well defined, these include tangible assets, such as natural and cultural environments encompassing historic monuments, precincts and landscapes of built environment, as well as intangible assets, such as past and continuing cultural practices, knowledge and experiences (ICOMOS, 1999; McKercher & du Cros, 2002). These assets are preserved because of their intrinsic value to the community, rather than for their tourist value (Charoenwongsa,
In addition, the paper also examines the department’s current strategic plan and assesses its chances of success.
The article “whose culture is it?” written by Kwame Anthony Appiah published in 2012, contains factual and suggestive content towards the preservation and importance of historical antiquities. The author discusses the positioning of cultural antiquities based on the ability of civilizations to preserve them. As examples were revealed, various acts have been taken accordingly; to legally provide the antiquities the safest solutions to preserve them. Furthermore, Appiah also discusses that some artifacts that belong to the artist, or contributors should be considered as universal art. He also questions some of the decisions taken by UNESCO, if they were truly for the betterment of the antiquities.
“Wilderness” in part four of A Sand County Almanac by Aldo Leopold discusses the evolution of nature at the hands of humans. I choose to write about this essay because of the connection humans have with the wilderness. I have always believed that nature and people have to work together to live harmoniously on this earth. The human race has used nature to survive for as long as they have existed. In today’s world people are using less and less of nature and more technology to industrialize the planet.
An organization’s mission statement refers to a brief description of the organization’s purpose. The mission statement articulates to the organizations purpose to the public (Ward, 2005). The mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is to “fulfill President Lincoln's promise: "To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan" by serving and honoring the men and women who are America's Veterans” (Department of Veterans Affairs, 2015). Since its inception, the Department of Veterans Affairs has undergone many changes however; its core mission remains unchanged. The VA’s mission statement serves as a guide for making organizational decisions and provides the framework for the future.
The Orlando Museum of Art, also known as OMA, is a hub of Central Florida when it comes to pulling in remarkable works of art for the public eye to pay patronage to. Today I visited such a place for the annual Antiques Vintage and Garden Show, which took place between February 19th through the 21st. Included in the price of a ticket was also admission to The OMA’s current exhibitions, which included Women of Vision: National Geographic Photographers and their other running exhibits, which contained an array of work, ranging from Pre-Columbian sculptures to more contemporary works of the 21st century. The specific exhibit which held my interest most was the Pre-Columbian, Mesoamerican gallery titled “A Trek from North to South”, which was organized by geographic locations in Latin America. Since my girlfriend, Illiana, bought me tickets to the show for a
Native Americans Native Americans are very different from other tribes. They eat, live, dress and do many things differently. The things I’m going to be talking about in my interesting paper is What they eat? What they wear? Where they live?
Museums must meet legal requirements of national and international law relating to the export and import of cultural property. Items acquired outside of these laws pose a security risk. See page X for details of legislation that may impact on your museum. The museum may be able to prove physical legal ownership through formally receipting of objects, but at times this excludes cultural ownership. A memorandum of understanding with communities, including tangata whenua and iwi Māori, may provide for object security where cultural and intangible ownership continues.

Mission statements are typically future focused and are not essentially constructed on present-day. They should be a reasonable viewpoint from which to look down the road. These statements should not bound the development of the organization’s premises through incorrect
All coaches are different and have different approaches on teaching their players how to play soccer. Heritage literacy is the concepts that get passed down generations, soccer works the same way. You learn to play soccer based on how your coach teaches you how to play soccer. When I first started playing soccer, I was five years old and the main concept of the program was to keep kids active and have fun doing so. There was no real strategy other than get the ball in the goal.
The goals created for the organization have to be aligned with the strategic goals and overall mission of the entire organization.
Introduction Visual and performing arts tend to act as separate entities within the field of education; considerably isolated from the majority of academia, these sectors are often considered to be secondary or elective options after completing primary education. The arts are an essential part of a well-rounded education, however, when an institute begins a budgeting process, the arts are rarely considered a top priority. For example, during periods of recession many public schools within the United Stated were forced to cut visual, performing and musical arts programs, despite studies that proved the exposure to the arts to be beneficial for students both academically and in extracurricular activities. Learning in an art-infused environment
In contrast, cultural heritage sites are the main tourist attractions of Kathmandu. The tourism industry is well managed in Colorado. On the other hand, the tourism industry is still developing in Kathmandu. The total number of tourists visiting Colorado is higher than the number of tourists visiting Kathmandu. In the same way, people don’t have to buy an entrance ticket to visit places in Kathmandu.
It is somehow hard for us to discover the beauty of nature in Hong Kong, the hustle and bustle city. Only when we put the work or stress away temporarily, can we truly feel how beautiful the place we are living is. As a pessimistic person, I often get stressed easily. Usually I would put myself in a quiet place, away from the crowds and the hardship I am facing. Tai Po Waterfront Park is the place that cheers me up.
