Leadership is very compulsory in political process, connection among People, Political Leader and Political Party is very complex. Politician generally belong to a political party, Political parties role is articulating the combination of interest in society. Media should be free and fair to report on the political parties campaigns so public can make the difference between them. Media should deliver the information to public on how to vote and told them the importance of their vote. Most important source of the public about political selections and elections is usually media If media is biased then it can be effect the result and change the views of public.
Democracy is manifested in the way power is organized: upholding democratic principles such as the rights of individuals through elections, procedural rules and representative institutions. On the other hand, sectarianism dominates political practices on several levels. The regime shares power between the various sects. Political and economic decisions such as the distribution of government positions and the allocation of public expenditures are also informed by sectarian calculations.
As the enhancement of humans’ needs and wants, people are tempted to promote the quality of their lives by using their knowledge and wisdom. Founding government is one of the most significant inventions of human beings. Government can be interpreted as an organization that creates and carries out laws. The issue of whether Direct Democracy is practical in the United States has been debated in this modern time. It is critical because it concerns fundamental political problems about society.
Different time periods and different civil societies from different parts of the globe have their own models and interpretation of democracy. According to David Held (2008), democracy is a form of government which is a contradiction to monarchies and aristocracies, the people rule which entails a political community in which there is some form of political equality among people. A government of the people, by the people and for the people in which every mature and able citizens have the right to elect and be elected in public office and actively participate in the political affairs of the society. It is necessary for a democratic state to have an active participation from its politicized and educated citizens thru its civil society in order for it to work well as a system. As discussed by Hollifield and Jillson (2000, p. 31) a civil society is necessary if there is to be a democracy because the state needs to know the active interest of the people, the state of public opinion and more particularly, how much support various specific interests can command with respect to different policy options.
Political science is important because political science is about people. It doesn’t just concerned only the government or the political group who is ruling a particular state or country but every citizen and every man on the street. This is because politics impacts our lives, both directly and indirectly, whether we’re aware of it or not. “To ignore politics, and not get involved in politics would seem rather silly considering that your life is dictated by it.” (Digestible Pol, 2013) Political science is a broad field that consists of several major subfields, namely: Comparative Politics International Relations Political Economy Political Behaviour Comparative Politics According to Caramani (2014), “Politics is the human activity of making public authoritative decisions.” So who exactly makes these public decisions? How did they gain the power to make such important decisions for the country?
Shouldn’t we leave governing our country to experts instead of letting citizens vote on how best to steer the “ship of state”? Democracy is where voting is used to aid the political system in determining who will lead and run a country. The citizens of a nation actively participate in politics and civic life as well as protection of the human rights of every citizen. It is also seen as a rule of law, in which the laws and procedures apply equally to all citizens because every citizen has a say in issues that directly affect their lives. Democracy is seen as a way of fairly governing a nation and with all things equal it is an ideal way of rule which is practiced by most of the nations of the world.
If state and lawmakers are careful in identifyings societiy’s needs and problems, law should improve quality of life. The government’s foundation is in the consent of the governed. In a democracy, the citizens are sovereign which means they are the prime form of political authority. Power is from the people to the rulers of government, who hold power only temporarily. In a democracy, citizens are free to criticise the elected leaders and representatives, and to view how they deal with the matters of government.
Political Science escalates the political awareness of an individual and makes him politically aware of his duties, rights and freedom. For the part of the government it reminds the government of its duty and responsibility towards its constituents. Political and socially aware citizens can make the government accountable and can significantly contribute towards the establishment equality and social justice. Political Science creates conducive condition for the success of democracy by laying emphasis on economic and social democracy. The two main pillars of democracy are conscious citizens and a responsible government.
Representative government is a well-known world practice and it was first developed in Great Britain, Switzerland and the United States of America. Then it expanded to the British Commonwealth countries and other places which include Malaysia. According to Bond and Smith (2013) “Representative democracy can be defined as a system of government where ordinary citizens do not make governmental decisions themselves but choose public officials-representative-of people- to make decisions for them” (p. 13). The main goal of representative democracy is to protect the rights and interests of the citizens in the country by giving them the freedom of speech. Hence, the leader holds a huge responsibility and play the major role as they had been elected during the elections to represent their nation.
(1992), one of the issues of any democratic order is the legitimation it requires from its citizens. The measure of concurrence of these residents to key components of vote based system, their readiness to take part in governmental issues to a specific degree, and their capacity to relate to the majority rule framework on a fundamental level are issues that are key to the survival of the framework. The more possibilities a popular government manages both institutionally and procedurally to touch base at an agreement, to show responsibility, and to distinguish actually with majority rule government, the more prominent are the odds of accomplishing usefulness, soundness, and permanency. Contrasted with the unitarian framework, the federative framework upgrades these odds extensively. (Sosmeña,
