Introduction
Procurement or material sourcing is an integral part of a supply chain in any industry. Sustainability in supply chain deals with managing not only the economic, but also the social & environmental aspects of the whole process throughout the lifecycle of the goods & services involved.
Traditionally, most organizations adopt sustainability measures for their operations to adhere to prevalent regulations, both legal & contractual. But in the present day world, with dwindling resources & increased public awareness about sustainability, more & more companies are opting to improve environmental, social & economic performance through adopting sustainability in a comprehensive manner.1 In a global study by Accenture involving CEO’s of leading companies of the world, 63% of CEOs expect sustainability to transform their industry within five years—and 76% believe that embedding

According to UNODC 2013 report, at the global level, public procurement spending accounts for about 15% of the world’s GDP. In India, estimates of public procurement vary between 20% of GDP2 to 30% of GDP.5 An example can be taken as the UK Government. UK spends approximately £150 billion per annum (13% of GDP) across a range of sectors. It employs 6 million people, consumes 7,000 Gigawatt hours of electricity, 1,000 million gallons of water, £3 billion of food and spends £4.5 billion on waste handling.6
Taking into account the massive size of public spending in India as well as the world, the public sector can be a driving force towards sustainable production and consumption and can create environmental and economic benefits for all stakeholders. This is especially true since the regulations in the public sector follow a top-down approach & can be closely monitored by the national governments, leading to a comprehensive implementation. The sustainability of a company encompasses their ability to manage social and environmental risks, obligations and opportunities. This concept is important for managers and to understand and implement because of government regulations and potential cost efficiency. In Oregon, there are numerous companies that express the importance of being sustainable.
HEALTH CARE SPENDING AND SOCIAL SERVICE SPENDING IN CANADA Introduction Health care spending is a major issue in Canada. According to Smith, Mitton and Kershaw(2016)total public health expenditure in Canada has increased significantly. In terms of Gross Domestic Product(GDP)public health care expenditures increased from 6.4 percent in 1995 to 8 percent in 2010. This places Canada among the top spenders on health care among developed countries(p. e130).
Lockheed Martin (LMT) Background In 1995, companies Lockheed and Martin Marietta would merge together to create one of the best defense and innovation companies in America. Lockheed and Martin Marietta were the second and third largest American defense contractors at the time of the merge. Lockheed Martin continues to make advancements in national security and defense through technological advances and innovation. The company is currently working on technology involving hypersonics, directed energy, and autonomous systems.
What is the Bureaucracy? It is revenue collected from environmental protection to economic regulation, gadget $2 trillion budget and activate with a substantial amount of autonomy. The Bureaucracy is control by the Congress, the President with unrestricted and independent from political compressions (The Federal Bureaucracy, n.d). To complicate things even more, many agencies have counterparts at the state and local level.
Additionally, there is growing public awareness and demand for social responsibility, sustainability, and transparency in business operations. Companies that prioritize social and environmental impact, ethical practices, and stakeholder engagement can gain a competitive advantage and enhance their reputation. All these factors contribute to an environment of constant change and uncertainty, which requires businesses to be agile, innovative, and adaptable. The UK are spending approximately £16bn a year and it is costing the Nhs £766m per year out of the NHS. this is a major issue as the NHS are supposed to be financially stable in order to run efficiently which is not the case at

The manufacturing is done with help of skilled labor. The skilled labor is one of the major strengths for Olympia, they not only carry out the painting job, various operations on the floor (the floor workers) but also manage the mate assembly line operations (called the assemblers). The sustainability report includes labor practices, energy efficiency, product sourcing, business ethics practices, and impact on natural environment. To provide annually sustainability report to the shareholders is good for the businesses. The well-known store in United States the WAL-MART annually provides a sustainability report to his shareholders. Wal-Mart and his suppliers both are work to gather to provide these reports. Wal-Mart not only monitors the price of products by the vendors but also monitor the vendor’s social responsibility and environmental practices.
India has multiple players in the healthcare segment but there is a huge gap in the demand and number players in the market. Also, considering the growth potential projected in the next few years, it is a highly attractive industry for the existing players. Considering government hospitals as incumbents: This does not impact the industry attractiveness for private players by much because of following reasons in urban areas. Accessibility in terms of commuting and waiting time is much more in govt.
I agree with the assertion that in the context of Sustainable Development ‘the reality of life today is that the economy dominates environment and society. The Concept of Sustainable Development Sustainable development refers to “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs”, and was produced by the Brundtland report (WCED, 1987). The concept also takes into account the needs of the poor in developing countries by outlining achievable objectives of importance (WCED, 1987).
The adoption of CSR strategy is also another drive factor for companies as it is perceived a way to gain competitive advantage. Those two aspects are strongly connected and the role of the supply chain in CSR strategies is vital (Blowfield & Murray, 2010). Companies which have not only adopted CSR actions but have highlightened them as a core factor of their long-term strategic planning may find complexities to uphold their social and enviromental standards to the whole value chain. The newly elected Government of Mauritius clearly laid down its ambitions regarding Public Administration in the Government Programme 2015-2019.
