By leaving the Guillet 's traditional family area, one of the first to do so since this Guillet branch arrived in 1718, Charles would have to deal with the lack of family contact by learning to be independent. Alpheus, the second generation of Demings born in Quebec, had improved his loyalist father 's initial homestead, of 200 acres of mostly virgin forest, into 100 acres of pastures and crops and a 2 acre apple orchard. This area of Quebec was soon became well known for its apples.

Both Franklin D. Roosevelt and Adolph Hitler were great alternatives during a time of crisis for both America and Germany. Common people were desperate for assistance, hope, and change. Roosevelt was the answer for America and Hitler for Germany, two men who ran for office offering real hope to the desperate that were jobless, homeless, and starving. Although both men are similar in ways they yielded starkly different outcomes of political challenges that left two starkly different legacies. Franklin D. Roosevelt, democrat, would win the 1932 Presidential election.
While on his presidential campaign tour, which was already off to a rocky start, anti-FDR press released an article that said the president had left his dog, Fala, behind accidentally and spent “20,000,000” of “American taxpayers” money to retrieve him (Weintraub 124). This preposterous and untrue rumor spread like wildfire and truly caused the American people to shift their standpoint towards Governor Dewey, putting him in the electoral lead for some time. Born on October 10, 1837 in Boston, Massachusetts, Robert Gould Shaw was the second child and only son of Francis George and Sarah Blake Shaw, two prominent abolitionists at the time. Shaw’s family line consisted of very successful merchants and businessmen who had amassed millions through trade, making the childhood of Shaw and his four sisters a comfortable one. When Shaw turned four, his father retired from his part time law practice so he could pursue a literary career and to spend more time with his family; he moved his family to the country near Brook Farm. It was here that Shaw was exposed to the beliefs of freethinkers’ such as Nathaniel Hawthorne and Ralph Waldo Emerson, along with the open-minded ideals of the local Unitarian church.
Mr. O’Malley, a lifelong Democrat and onetime chairman of the Democratic Governors Association, seemed comfortable playing the insurgent as he took the stage. He urged Democrats to draw a sharp contrast with the discourse among the Republican presidential candidates. “Silence and complacency in the face of hate is not an honorable option,” he said, alluding to Donald J. Trump’s divisive remarks about immigration and women. “We must stand before the American people and show them we have a better way.” Mr. O’Malley pointed out that the New Hampshire debate, the only one to be held before that state’s primary, was set for a weekend in December, when many people will be distracted with Christmas shopping and family obligations. (“At home we would call that too cute by half,” he told reporters after his speech.)

Like a strategy straight out of Sun Tzu 's Art Of War, Hillary Clinton is using Donald Trump 's own party against him in a brutal new campaign ad that shows even the majority of Republicans find Trump distasteful and potentially disastrous for America. This week, Donald Trump became the GOP 's presumptive presidential nominee after an embarrassing thrashing in Indiana finally caused Evangelical nut-bar Ted Cruz to accept defeat and drop out of the race, followed shortly by Ohio Governor John Kasich. With Trump the last man standing on the Republican ticket, and Clinton being the odds-on favorite for the Democrats, things are about to get real nasty along the campaign trail as both candidates gear up for the general election.
