Later on, Bob met Leslie King who had him record a couple singles, the first was "Judge Not". His solo career did not take off right away, so him and two of his friends created a band. Some of the moments these brave men and women told her will stay with her forever: such as Bernie, who pried a mezuzah from his door frame as the Nazis dragged him from his home, and held it curled in his fist throughout the entire war – so that it took two years to straighten his fingers after liberation. Or how his mother promised him that he would not be shot in the head, only the chest – can you imagine making that promise to your child?! Or Gerda – who won the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and who survived a 350 mile march in January 1945 – because, she told Jodi, her father had told her to wear her ski boots when she was taken from home. Or Mania, whose mastery of the German language saved her life multiple times during the war, when she was picked to work in office jobs instead of in hard labor; and who told Jodi of Herr Baker, her German boss at one factory, who called the young Jewish women who were assigned to him Meine Kinder (my children) and who saved his workers from being selected by the Nazis during a concentration camp roundup. At Bergen Belsen, she slept in a barrack with 900 people and contracted typhoid – and would have died, if the British had not come then to liberate
February 7, 1963 is a day that will forever remain prominent in American History. The Beatles, a band formed of four young men Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, and Starr, arrived in America, unsure of themselves and what the future would hold for them. As they landed, the screams of teenage girls echoed and the sound of news reporters and journalists for newspapers recorded the reactions of the public as they stepped off of the plane. The Beatles had no idea this crowd was for them- they had thought someone else was at the airport that day and the crowd was for someone else. They had no idea the impact their music had made in American charts.

Bob Dylan was born May 24, 1941 in Duluth, Minnesota. During high school dances he used to imitate rock stars like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard at the piano. In college in Minneapolis, he began to perform at local cafés. He sang folk and country songs under the name of Bob Dylan (after the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas) instead of his birth name Robert Allen Zimmerman. Dylan later dropped out of college and moved to New York where his folksinger idol, Woody Guthrie, was hospitalized.
Although there was this outbreak of violence, there was some peace. “There was a day of national mourning on 7 April. There were processions and gatherings in stadiums and parks in New York, Newark, Houston, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, and other cities in honour of Dr. King” (The National Archives Learning Curve). Since King played a major role in the Civil Rights Movement, he has a U.S. national holiday, the third Monday of January, dedicated to him. On this holiday, many schools across the country teach their students about his impact on society and why he was an important figure during that time.
However, he wound up returning to Apple a few years later. Upon seeing the evolution of the company since his exit, he only became more frustrated. He was particularly annoyed by the lack of attention on the Apple II division of the company, and so he left once again. Wozniak never took his name off the employee list, so he is still technically an employee and receives a stipend from Apple of about $120,000 per year. He joked in an interview with CNBC that “...since he reported to the late Steve Jobs, he can’t be fired.” (Shinal).
I can never remember the first time I learned to write the English language or even speak it but I do remember the first time I enjoyed learning how to write and speak English. For as long as I can remember my uncle always played rock music throughout his and our daily life. He would play rock on our route to school, when he comes home, and even when he sleeps. I hated the noise for a very long time and then something eventually clicked. Something that sounded so awful now sounded wonderful and I became engrossed in it.
My life got easier and the other kings became proud of me. 10 years had past. The war had begun. As soon as the battle started, the leader came to me and asked the plan that he made 10 years ago. The king shared the plan to the other king, but then, they answered that they have no budget to have a doctor in the war!
