It 's one of Bernie Sanders utopian dreams, it won 't happen, but that 's not to say it wouldn 't be welcome. At the least, our most able students should be able to afford an education with scholarships because it will be the future of the country to have new and fresh ideas to aid the economy in years to
Do you plan on going to college? Should college be free? Right now, colleges are having people pay a lot of money to there, and others don’t have to pay a cent to go there because of scholarships. Whether it sports or projects that have gotten people scholarships; others have to pay. If it was free, people wouldn’t worry about paying, students would work harder to get accepted into big schools, and it would give people in a lower class have more opportunities.
In today society, people are easily looked by their college degree level and they can be judged by their degree. But not everybody can afford to go to college in order to get a degree. People have different reasons of not going to college but most of the reasons are because of the tuition. Tuition are too high and they can not afford it. If the free college situation does not make a great effect on the economy, I believe that college should be free because free college can encourage more students to go to college, earn a degree and can decide on their future without the worry of paying debt and contributing to create a better society with their knowledges.
Some of the athletes get hurt and they are out for the year because they can 't pay for the injury, but if they get paid it will help them pay for their injuries. Some athletes don 't have enough money for sports gear, so buy paying them they will be able to get sports gear. Most athletes try to play a sport and have a job so if they got paid it would give them more time to focus on the sport. Athletes should be paid earlier so it will help them in the pros by giving them confidence so they don 't get worried that they are going to spend all of their money. If athletes get paid earlier it will help the manage their money when their older so it will help them pay bills.
I believe that students should be offered less tuition and the same amount of scholarships, so that scholarships can cover most of their tuition fee. It is hard to see teenagers come out of college with an immense amount of debt and they are just starting their
They also need money to pay the professors for working for them but, making someone pay for their education is not the way to do it. The prices for college are immense. People can simply pay taxes to cover the cost of college or the college can raise money by doing fundraisers or other activities. In conclusion, people should not have to pay to attend college and receive an education. College is said to be very expensive or unaffordable and, although there are alternatives used to pay for college, many people are not eligible for these alternatives.
These experiences have made me even more religious too. How this scholarship will help me...well a little goes a long way. Everyone knows that college is really expensive. This scholarship will help me pay for textbooks, classes, etc. This scholarship will reduce a financial burden on me and my parents.
Maddie Berlemann Mrs. Mercer Honors Freshman lit. March 2, 2017 Tuition Free College Even though opponents say that free college would not be an option because faculty would push for more pay, tuition free college is good for reasons such as making cities more successful, students would not be crushed by debt, students would value higher education and it would benefit the poor. According to Lawrence S. Wittner, “Free public higher education provides educational opportunities for all.” Including the low income families and students. As prices of schools rise lower income families have harder times paying for it not to mention the “thousands of dollars in room, board, books, and other living expenses” as Lawrence S. Wittner explains.
Parents feel that pushing a child will help them to achieve more in life such as scholarships as well as teaching them life lessons. As stated before, many families can simply not afford a good education therefore feeling as though athletic success is the only possible option. Scholarships will help a child get into a good school and let them leave with minor to no debt. This sets these teens up for a positive future giving them a better chance for a good, beneficial job along with not having to worry about the post graduation affects of college. These division 1 scholarships are also very rare, which makes the constant push to achieve more worth it.
If these top tier athlete’s were given the opportunity to be paid thousands of dollars for their athletic additions to a program, there would be very little incentive for them to focus on their education. Athletes are given extraordinary compensation through full scholarships and the addition of a paycheck for playing would almost nullify the need for an education as their athletics got them into the school for free, make them money, and given them a chance to play professionally for a living. Although that may turnout to be a viable option for some players, it defeats the purpose of getting a college education and is a risky path for most. Paying a student for their extracurricular would provide
At this point the benefits seem significantly more important than the costs. Sure the costs cannot be ignored but in the long run the increase in wage can improve people’s lives outweighing the costs that exist. Some of the important benefits from increasing the minimum wage would be giving a better salary to the people who depend on that money to provide and support their families. In today’s current situation the minimum wage has people living in poverty because what they earn is not enough to support them. By raising the minimum wage people can get themselves above the poverty line as “A more recent
The students have other important commitments than doing something that they are forced to do. Many people could lose their jobs because time spent on service. The jobs given could put inexperienced people in a situation they could not handle, making problems even worse. Some students need money from a job, but going to serve doesn’t give them any money. Many people want to go to college right after high school to complete their education and to be able to get a good job.
I have to do more school work than work at my job right now. On top of that my family’s financial situation is not great. I don’t think students deserve a lot of scholarship money just because of financial situations, but I will actually put the money towards a good cause. One step I plan on taking towards having a career that I love is working before playing.
