In 2003, scientists accomplished a feat straight out of science fiction: the cloning of the extinct Pyrenean ibex. However, the resulting clone died soon after its birth due to a lung defect. If a clone of an extinct animal that had died out only three years beforehand could not survive, is there any possibility of a real Jurassic Park? Because no dinosaurs are around to produce offspring, cloning is the only way to create a viable dinosaur embryo.
A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest J. Gaines is historic novel about the wrongful conviction of a black man in the South. It is centered around how to get the black man, Jefferson, to believe that he is more than what the white man believes he is. Grant, the protagonist, helps Jefferson do this by convincing him of it. In A Lesson Before Dying, Gaines uses monologues and actions between people to emphasize the importance of one's commitment to others. To begin, Gaines uses his word choice to capitalize on what he is trying to get through to look into the commitment and show it to the reader.
I had an awesome summer this year! My family and I spent lots of time with our relatives and doing fun activities. During the summer we rodeo, spent time with family, worked, went on vacation and just spent time with friends. Read below to find more about my exciting summer. Rodeo is something I do a lot in the summer.
Monday through Friday I stayed with my grandmother and great aunt, so that I could go to school. I was in elementary school at the time. I use to listen to my uncle play different types of music on his stereo so that he could mimic the sound with the instruments he was playing. I used to sing along with him dreaming that one day I would be able to sing just like the singers on the albums my uncle would play to. As time went on, my mother met a man that she felt was a good man.
“I walked into the Emergency Room. This couldn’t be happening. Just a few hours ago we were playing board games and listening to our favorite song on the radio - the song that had defined our friendship. But now as I made my way to the nurses station, that song was playing again. Only this time it felt different” .
When I met Tom, I found in him great visions and ambitions that we both shared, I felt relief due to the fact that I did not have to live this life alone in the empty swamp, where only misery, hatred, abandonment and wretchedness lived. Notwithstanding, it only took a short time being together to regret having married a man as miserable as Tom Walker. I endured his lies, cheating, his lack of attention and I resisted all his personal interests. Our days became bitter and fill of conflicts, but I did not leave, I did not send him away either, only for the reason that of all the people I have been, of all the names I have had, and of all the lives that I have lived, this is the first that I am accompanied.
“Ahh, a nice warm bed with no worries anymore,” I thought as I dozed off to sleep. Then I was being forced roughly out of the window I came through, and throne on the ground. “ We got you now boy, and we know it was you who took the pistol.” Dewberry Wallace spa.
