Most people of academic achievement ought to be able to readily cite a vast number of supportive mentors. John Donne recognized this through one of his works, stating that “no man is an island”. I am no outlier to this trend, for I have an immensely helpful family, superb educators, and friends that share similar interests in the world of science. However, I would like to concentrate on a rather unsuspecting part of my schooling as having the highest impact: my junior high music teacher. Amidst my life fixated on textbook education, she forced me to never be complacent, to hold high behavioral standards, and to passionately pursue the flighty sparks of inspiration.

A student getting involved in art programs, drama clubs, or music programs are activating and stimulating a part of the brain that correspond with retaining information which can be a benefiting factor in helping other subjects. Study after study proves that the arts have been linked to helping develop a young mind and can be used for so much more than a way for someone to express their feelings. Again, others might claim that music education in school is a “waste of money and time”. This statement can be contradicted by researcher MIT professor Jeanne Bamberge. Bamberge claims that because of music, children are able to listen and learn better and faster than those who aren’t blessed with music educations. Giving children education in music as young as possible can help them to have the ability to be successful in learning language. Have the government forgot about the Detroit public schools? Public schools of Detroit are under very poor condition; Spain Elementary/Middle School is an example of this misfortune. This particular school is facing problems such as, missing books, unavailability to use the gymnasium as well playground, or missing out on music lessons due the lack of terminating the musician teacher. This mistreat is highly noticeable by the parents as well as the stuff. However, the government is not doing anything to face this society problem. It seems that the norm of schooling conditions is not equal throughout the rest of the country.
In the article by Adam Reyher, he is describing about what I think, if music does not keep evolving and changing, music will eventually die like if sharks stop moving forward, they will die. How we teach music in classrooms, it should not be taught word for word, but it should be “embraced” and be taught the way kids want to be taught in a fun way. In a report (Champions of Change: The Impact of the Arts on Learning, Fiske 1999) author Fiske makes statements about the arts that help the cause. Some of these statements include: “the arts reach students… in ways and methods not normally used,” “it changes the learning environment,” “students connect with each other better,” and “the arts provide challenges to students of all levels.” According to Fiske, when students are able to connect more it can cause less fighting, bullying and greater support in pears. The effect of these causes is that the environment, where students spend eight hours out of their twenty-hours a day and five out of their seven days in, is much safer with these course, rather than without the
After seven years of playing the violin, I can proudly say that music has become a part of me.Throughout my experience with playing the violin, there has been one individual who has helped shape the person I am. Providing the enduring teachings that will shape me into a greater human being, this person deserves the utmost respect for establishing my interest in the violin and in music. For the sake of this story, he will be referred to as Maestro Johnson. If I had a ticket that could take me anywhere, I would use it to go back in time to the time when Maestro Johnson was my musical advisor.

When concentrating on a specific task you are normally only using one part of your brain while concentrating so the other parts of your brain that is unoccupied drifts off which causes you to lose concentration. The music is beneficial because it will keep the other parts of your brain busy while you are concentrating which will prevent you from drifting off and losing concentration.
