My mother and other parents and coaches know that it's good for them to have fun playing the game they love, but they also know that it's good for them to compete and try their best to get what they want. At the age of 5, I aspired to either become a professional athlete or an ESPN anchor. Ever since I could remember, I would kick a soccer ball around, dribble a basketball, or throw a baseball around with friends and family. I used to be the league champion and MVP of the team every season, but as time progressed, other competitors would rocket past in height and become the best players because of their size advantage. This is a problem because it affects how people view women in sports. There are several perspectives in which this problem can be discussed and they are based on stereotypes, appearances, and the type of sports showed in media. I decided to discuss this topic because compared to their male counterparts women are seen as inferior in the sports domain.

Lake Travis High School strongly encourages community service, but I wanted to start something that directly benefits our Central Texas Veterans. Cavs 4
