9/11: The Day That Changed America Forever On September 11, 2001, nineteen terrorists boarded four planes, all transcontinental flights full of jet fuel. 9/11 became the first of many hijackings in the United States. The terrorists turned two flights into flying weapons of destruction, knocking down America’s tallest buildings. The third plane rammed into the Pentagon and the fourth plane was crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. 9/11 became the day that a tragic event killed thousands, injured hundreds and changed America forever.
The morning of Tuesday September 11, 2011 is one of the biggest tradgies of all time. On this specific day four airlines were hijacked by an Islamic group that goes by the name al-Qaeda. The attacks took the lives of 2,996 innocent people, injured nearly 6,000 people, and caused at least $10 billion in infracture and property damage. These attacks, also known as the 9/11 attacks, will forever be remebered as one of the most horrific days for so many people around this world. Initally, al-Qaeda considered targeting nuclear power plants on 9/11, but decided to go against it because they feared it would get too out of control.
Thousands of people died, the city was wrecked and fires were set aflame. The earthquake happened at 5:13 in the morning on April 20, 1906. The earthquake destroyed the city hall and many more buildings that took a long time to build. It had killed many people and started oil leaks. The leaks led to fires that blazed upon the city and killed many more.
Tragedy, and burning flames. Everybody remembers 9/11, and the day the twin towers collapsed into shreds. Bombers in hijacked planes, millions injured, and thousands dead enduringly. The beginning of the ending, 250 people on 4 hijacked planes that changed America forever. Nobody knew, it was a rude awakening.
The Mongols completely destroyed all of Azerbaijan (this was where the Mongols invaded). They destroyed all of their buildings, but this time they specifically destroyed religious buildings and symbols for Muslims. They also even attempted to destroy their economy by trying to destroy their paper money trade. They were disrespecting religions and wiping out an entire city, which is very barbaric. Finally, the Mongols also did some very bad stuff to Baghdad.
Two of the many ways we know about the Earthquake is “Comprehending Calamity” a Personal Narrative by Emma Burke, and “The Horrific Wreck of The City” an Eyewitness Account by Fred Hewitt. After the earthquake the government thought that it would hurt the town to tell them what really happened so know one the true death count of the earthquakes rage, in edition not even the government truly knew how much died on that terrible day as deaths in china town were never even recorded. The event demolished 490 city blocks including 25,000 buildings, and an estimate of 80% of the city was destroyed.“Comprehending Calamity” by Emma Burke and
When the bomb detonated at 9:02, Rogers was thrown backward onto the floor with a desk and other office items landing around her. When she looked up, every one of her eight colleagues that was in the room with her had vanished. She started hollering, “Where are you guys? Where are you guys?” In the next few moments, before car and building alarms triggered by the bomb began to howl, before the sirens of the police cars and fire engines, and before the cries of the trapped and injured rang out, Rogers experienced an “eerie
The terrorist attacks on 9/11 have caused many debates over the years since they occurred back in 2001. Two American planes were hijacked and ran into the twin tower buildings, another was hijacked and headed for the pentagon, but thankfully never made it. Thousands of Americans lost their lives on the days of the attacks and to this day the sorrow hangs with us. Security was a huge debate of the time because America is supposed to be the safest nation there is, so how did this happen? America had lots of changes to make the attacks on September 11, 2001.
Al Qaeda terrorists hijacked four planes. Two of the planes (American airline flight 11 and united airlines flight 175) Crashed into the north and south towers of world trade center in New York City. One hour and 42 minutes after the crash of the planes both 110 stories towers collapsed resulting fire and the collapsing and damage to the other towers. Including the seven world trade center tower which has 47 stories. It is almost sixteen years since that fear was imposed on us and the age of terror began in earnest.
On September 11, 2001, tragedy struck the city of New York. On that fateful day, two airplanes were hijacked by terrorists and flew straight into the twin towers. Each tower fell completely to the ground, taking thousands of lives with it and injuring thousands more. Not only did that day leave thousands of families without their loved ones, it also left an entire city and an entire country to deal with the aftermath of the destruction. Poet, Nancy Mercado, worries that one day people will forget that heartbreaking day.
