The Importance of Hope in Our Lives Our lives are filled with misery. Whether it is a member of our family passing away, or getting fired from a job, we all have those tragic moments in our lives. But, with hope, we can counter all this misery and look forward into a brighter future. It gives us the strength we need to overcome all the sadness in our lives. Whenever we are having a bad day, hope comes in to remind us that the next day will improve. Hope can give us the will for accomplishment, make us happier, and get us through difficult times in our lives. To begin with, hope is what gives us the mindset to accomplish a certain goal. Whenever we hope for something, we are determined to make our hopes a reality. A student could hope for better grades, so he decides to study. In the end, the student that wishes to be successful in school is more likely to succeed. Rosa Parks is a great example of how hope can lead to accomplishment. Rosa Parks had always lived in a world where black people were treated as second class citizens. She disliked the way society ran, and decided to take action. In December of 1955, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat after the white section was filled. She was under a massive amount of pressure to give up her seat, but she persevered. After this incident, Rosa Parks became famous and known for her contribution to the civil rights movement. She was able to achieve all this because of hope. The strong desire for equal rights is what gave her the
Hope doesn’t neglect that the cause of despair isn’t present, but it looks on toward the end and believes the present situation will pass and the end will be better and brighter. But when there’s a difficult or dreadful situation on the horizon, as there was for Frodo and Sam while looking towards Mordor, despair creeps closer and can hang overhead like black stormclouds. Sometimes hope needs awakening because the sun cannot be seen past the stormclouds. This awakening can be stirred by a
Life can really suck sometimes. It can give us the illusion that everything is going to go smoothly as planned, but then it surprises us with tragedy or rough, unexpected circumstances. It is during these times that we just don’t know what to do and feel hopeless. But hope is always there. Sometimes it’s obvious, and sometimes it seems impossible to find, but there is always hope for any situation or circumstance.
Hope is a helpful tool to push people through the hardest times in life. In the book Night by Elie Wiesel, there are numerous examples of hope helping people and revitalizing their confidence. People used hope to help them through rough times. People hope that friends and family are still alive. Also hope that the Front liberates the camps and frees everyone.
Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness. It drives us all. It makes us believe in something even when we think everything is against us. Author Nam Le explores the theme of hope in his short story, The Boat and director John Hill coat in his film, The Road. The author and director explore the theme through character development, scenery, the use of symbols and metaphors also through character behaviours.
Hope is a feeling inside you that makes feel like you can do anything. When you have that feeling you set yourself up for success and it makes you want to live life like a fairytale. The war started at Valley Forge, George Washington made an army that he had hoped for. Then the British came and forced war over them. “The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.”
Hope can consist of staying positive even through the most calamitous of times, remembering some of your precious memories, and even waiting patiently for good outcomes. Having hope can help you overcome obstacles that you may have thought were unfeasible to surpass. There may be times where hope seems out of your grasps. Yo may even start feeling like there is no point in having hope, but a positive attitude can help a tremendous amount when handling conflict. Having something taken from your grasps makes you want to fight for it, but waiting patiently and having hope can also get the lost item back.
Hope can be a driving force in our lives. It can pick up the phone to call that one girl back for a second date. It can move our fingers to type the first few words of a novel. It can push us to do more and be more than we ever thought we could be. On the other hand, hope can be like an opiate.
The smallest things often have the biggest impact. For example, people’s success depends on their attitude. If people believe they are doomed, they probably are. On the other hand, if people remain positive and hopeful, their chances of success are much higher. This mindset is helpful to people enduring horrible acts of inhumanity.
When times get tough and adversity is thrown at you like a curveball all you can do is stay positive and know to never give up. Unfortunately I have had to deal with a couple scenarios where I have been faced with adversity. I have had to overcome my parents being divorced, and a family member who has overcame a drug addiction. That was one of the hardest things I was ever faced with going through middle school, but knowing that there will always be a tomorrow and to not give up on someone has had a positive impact in the end. It has brought my family closer than we have ever been.
The author of the Rosa Parks page emphasizes that, “By refusing to give up her seat to a white man on a Montgomery, Alabama, city bus in 1955, black seamstress Rosa Parks (1913—2005) helped initiate the civil rights movement in the United States” (Rosa Parks). Simply put, Rosa inspired the rest of the African American communities around the United States to protest through boycotts whenever they had the chance to do so. Determined to get the bus segregation law overturned, Parks and her fellow NAACP

In the Merrriam-Webster dictionary, hope is defined as; to cherish a desire with anticipation. However, those words don't convey the meaning deep enough, hope is more than that. Hope is a feeling deep in the gut, a motivating force, for some hope is everything. Hope must be stronger than any fear and it must have fight in it. Lina Vilkas, a fifteen year old Lithuanian, she fights for hope.
Fortune Cookie “Hope is a hop skip and jump away, hop to it.” The quote is trying to state that hope is technically all around but it is our job not only to find it but to go after it to make it a reality. I also believe to obtain this hope you must work hard to find it. Hope is the thing that keeps humans, me moving in times of adversity, sorrow and even happiness.
“Each person must live their life as a model for others”. This quote was said by Rosa Parks, she was a great role model for many people. Although all Rosa Parks did was just refuse to give up her seat, that made a huge impact in the world during that time. She is mainly known for what occurred on December 1, 1955 which was that she refused to give up her seat on the bus in Montgomery, Alabama. After that passed, civil rights movement began.
She grew up in the South where there was strong segregation in which there were separate rules for blacks and whites. She broke this law by not giving her seat to the white people. The bus driver called the police and Rosa Parks was arrested. The African-American community of the town decided to create a boycott of the buses to try to change the law. The rest of the civil rights movement started from this boycott and now she is known as the Mother of the Civil Rights Movement.
