My artifact is a fox pinch pot. It was handmade by me. Choosing colors, it ended up orange and black. My pinch pot is important because it was something I made. Every pinch made, took valuable time and endless effort. my pinches represent the choices that molded me into me today, the pot represents my open mindedness, and the fox represents my ability to survive tricky situations
My Everlasting Quest I am a child of immigrant parents, although we are not the wealthiest and they may have had struggles when moving to Canada, my life has been great so far with the efforts of my family. It all began when I was born in Ottawa, at the civic hospital on May 12 2001. My full name is Morgan Lee Khai Chau. My parents come from Vietnam, they immigrated to Canada around the 1900s because of all the violence going around in their home country, they also wanted a better life and future for themselves and their families. My family is made up of my parents, my older brother and my older sister.
The threshold goblin stood before me, between me and the end of my quest. “You are small, you are weak, you know nothing!” He screeched. My blood started to boil and my anger built. I shouted back, “That’s not true! I’ve learned enough to get this far!” The goblin smirked and said slyly, “Prove it then puny human! If you do, I will let you pass and have the treasure down the path.” I considered this for a moment, realizing that I would most definitely impress him with my development and gain of knowledge so far on my quest. “Fine!” I shot back. “Ask me any questions about my academic progress. And I’m sure by the end of this encounter, I will be on the other side of you claiming my well-earned reward.” I could see the goblin was troubled by
Going Down in History I remember it like it was yesterday. The adrenaline rush, the anticipation, the sky-high nerves, and the undying support from our small Community. Softball, just like football is a very prided sport in Danville.
Find My Voice Accomplishments take me one step closer to happiness and tranquility. For example, maintaining an “A” in a rigorous course, helping others that are struggling, cook for my family, etc. are minor achievements and events that have formed me into a better being. Sometimes, ignorance gets the best of me, and it does conquer my sweet, timid personality that I possess. Accordingly, my accolades never suggest nor imply I am better than anyone else. I never consider highly of myself because we are equally intelligent in our own separate ways.
I have been doing some thinking about our conversation a few days ago and have concluded that I will take you up on the offer! I just sold my old bike and now have some money left over that I can use to pay for those seminars. I am going to see how soon I can get this done, I am going to look at the dates and send my form in.
My Memoir Why are there no lines? Why are there no goals? Why were the benches not moved? Just some of the things that went wrong on 9/12/15. That is the day my soccer team won 8-0 at our first home soccer game. The tensions were high and we were stressed no lines or goals.
It was a cold November morning in the valley of Cowan, when I fired my first shot. It was a smooth and clean feeling after I pulled the trigger. I than saw the deer hunker as the slug hit its side, and it began to run away from us. Dad, knowing I had made a good shot, still decided to jump out of the blind window to end the animals suffering. Unfortunately, when his foot caught, it was all over from then. Once, I was inside the blind and the next I was in the cold crisp air. I then saw Dad on the ground cursing himself for jumping through the window.
I’m a first generation american on my father's side and second generation on my mothers. In large part, who I am today, is a direct reflection of them immigrating to this country. I learned hard work, determination, and commitment through stories they shared with me about the lives they built when they arrived to America. I’m proud of my roots and the legacy that my parents and grandparents have instilled in me and much of who I am today is a reflection of their own hard work.
My cultural product is a sorority pin. This pin is in the shape of a pyramid. It is made of gold and has blue sapphires. The sorority I joined at theUniversity of Rhode Island gave me this pin at my initiation. When I joined the sorority, Ienvisioned myself at the very top of the pyramid, the smallest part because I am a minority. Throughout my year at URI, I tried working my way down the pyramid, trying to fit into the majority. I was not trying to be “white”; my goal was to be perceived just a smart and as capable as white middle class person. After this experience, I understood what I had to overcome before anyone could take me serious (Cofer, 1993).
My thematic pathway consists of three classes: Introduction to Music, Introduction to Sociology, and Digital System. The first two classes were taken in John Jay College and the last one was taken in my first semester at Buffalo University. These classes come together to qualify my global pathway under the topic of Design and the Build Environment. Nevertheless, I am still not sure how they assimilated into this topic to develop our critical thinking skill and analytical skill to approaches the problem solving as how it descripted on the website. Furthermore, it really gives me a tough time to make these classes echoed each other. However, I will attempt to connect these classes together and explain how these classes correspond to each other
My personal memoir from this semester was written about a particular game of chess with a friend. I started by spending lots of time listing different ideas, and understanding how well those ideas would fit into a personal memoir format. This paper taught me how to use words to paint a picture in the reader’s mind. It was difficult to find one main point and keep that point relevant throughout the entire paper. Instead, I found it easier to divide the main point up into smaller ideas and explain each of those individually and then connect them all at the end of the paper. I explored what it meant to guide the reader through certain ideas, rather than just blatantly stating facts. This lead to some weaknesses to the paper, such as, the
