I live around people who mostly don’t have big goals in their life. I still remember my mother once told me, “Don’t push yourself to achieve something that is too hard to achieve. Just enjoy your life as long as you have succeeded to fulfill your current needs”. That was the first time I disagree with my mother. My disagreement continued while I interested in studying economics and started to pursue an Economics degree at Universitas Indonesia. My mother thought it would be difficult for me to apply for Universitas Indonesia and live in different city without my parents’ supervision. My disagreement with my parents made me thinking is this the right choice for me to pursue economics major in Universitas Indonesia? Uncommonly, although my parents kept disagreeing with my decision, somehow I believe I could pass the test and survive to live alone in the city. Sadly, I failed to pass the test. I realized maybe I failed because I still lack of understanding the exam material since I was not a social science student. But, I kept studying hard and remind myself that hard works will always pay off. Although I got high score on simulation test, I kept failing on the second test. I was sad and confuse that day. I feel blessed even more when I found that learning economics will give me a bigger opportunity to contribute in improving Indonesia’s current condition. On my first year study economics, I found that although Indonesia has a strong economic performance and an abundance of natural resources, compare to other countries in ASEAN, Indonesia is one of the countries which still struggles with low level of financial deepening, inadequate infrastructure, corruption, a complex regulatory environment, and unequal resource distribution among regions. Those problems have induced difficulty in Indonesian society to avoid poverty and
People always try everything that is within them to achieve their dreams. This happens because since little people think big without looking at the circumstances that are around. People think that they could become anything if they work for it. They are excited thinking about what they can do to be better every day so they could be able to reach their goals, nevertheless, then there comes a time in life when all dreams start to become impossible and more distant every day. Debt is the amount of money you owe to a person, bank, etc. According to Margaret Hoover, “If you finish your four years or any post high school educations leads to increased earnings over the course of your lifetime, and that’s just undeniable.” College is worth the cost because it provides future jobs, better pay, and living environments. College gives you better job opportunities. Some people say that you do not have to go to college to get a good job.
Why I Chose My Major I chose Criminal Justice for my major because it’s appealing to me. As a child I looked up to police, and I was never scared to go up to them and just start asking questions and everyone I asked was always willing to talk back and knowing they did not even had to pay any mind to me at all being that I was so little to even know how the system worked but they did their best to explain it to me. One Police officer in particular I really looked up to Mr. Brad Garafola. He was a close family friend him and my dad grew up together. He was our neighborhood cop; he stopped by, while on patrol, at house to visit at least once a week to check up on us.

I know I had goals for myself and that helped me stay positive. Although I believed that every goal I have in my life can be attained through hard work- that was always not the case. My experience learning English was one other hardest thing I have ever done in my life. When I started high school, I had very little
Why do I want to attend college? College is an honorary achievement and it separates the determined from the undetermined. Owning a college to degree is an honor and an ecstatic feeling. Through college, that job is that much closer in the grasp. Through college, a person can perform at an elite level and really push themselves for greatness.
I presently find myself at that point in my life where I’m theoretically to decide what I want to do for the remainder of my life. There’s no uncertainty that I will pursue a college education, as that is what is paramount for my future. Malcom X once said “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” My ultimate goal is to acquire the most promising, advantageous education possible. With any luck, this will permit me a career that sustains a suitable quality of life.
Setting smaller goals is nice because they are like stepping stones to my bigger goals. The reason I am so motivated to go to college is because I have the opportunity to be the first in my family to attend college. Seeing my parents struggle with money because they can’t get a decent paying job is one of the reasons I desire to go to college. I know by going to college, and doing what I love, I will be able to enjoy what I’m doing while being able to have a improved life than I had experienced.
Over the years I have learned that ambition may lead to negative outcomes. Outcomes rely on what your plans are and with what intentions you are doing them. About 3 years ago I moved out to Puerto Rico and lived with my dad. I learned a lot of lessons while living there. Moving to Puerto Rico was a huge milestone in my life.
Efforts should be made to get where we want and to become the person we dream. We must not let anyone set our limits. Only hard work can lead us to accomplish our aspirations, no matter how impossible they may seem. These have always been my mottos and I try to do my best, no matter what I do. I never give up until I reach my goals.
I am a firm believer in achieving my goals because I know that they will reflect on my future. At times, I may fail but I do not let that stop me from trying. Instead, I let it teach me a lesson and push myself even harder to do better the next
A college education is very important for me to obtain the career I want. College will provide me the knowledge and practice I need to be successful. Going to college will help me get accustomed to the pressure of the real world and will give me the opportunity to become independent. Graduating college is my number one goal in life. It would be an awarding payoff for all the hard work and dedication to my studies throughout high school.
I want to achieve these goals because I know I could be something of importance in life and it would better me as a person. My life goals have changed over time because before I wanted these things I didn’t really care to do them, I wasn’t inspired enough to chase the goals. My family has helped me in the process of trying to reach my goals by pushing me to work harder and investing in my well-being. I do agree with the quote; “The journey toward the dream is the most important thing.” because if you don’t try to chase your dream then you can’t reach them and chasing them is the important part that will get you closer to your
Learning history is always important as it reveals our mistakes and grants us the opportunity to learn from our mistakes. My understanding of the history of economics will serve as a useful base-knowledge as I continue on my studies in economics. In my third and fourth year of university, I will broaden my field of study to an international level. As I have mentioned previously, I plan to learn international economics through classes such as International Trade or International Finance. Moreover, I will take business-related classes funded by corporates to get familiarized with industries in Japan and the real-world problems that they face.
