I have read the short story, “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell. In this story, Rainsford, a faimed author and hunter, falls off his ship and winds up on an island where he meets a man. This man turns out to be a former Russian General, General Zarroff. General Zarroff , it just so happens, is a hunter in his own but of a different nature. To escape the island he must outwit his host in the General’s own game of hunting.
When Zaroff starts to hunt Rainsford he hides and sets traps for Zaroff to fall in on the small island they are on. Zaroff finds one of Rainsford’s traps and knows Rainsford his nearby watching him. Rainsford’s crafty skills helped him survive from Zaroff. Rainsford’s traps didn’t work but they did frighten Zaroff because now he also has to look out for traps. At the end of the movie Rainsford falls off a waterfall and Zaroff thought he was dead; Rainsford later came back to Zaroff’s castle and murdered
In Michael P.Spradlin’s Into The Killing Seas, two brothers named Patrick and Teddy sneak into a ship and hide in crates. As they wait the ship wrecks and sinks, they get on a piece of wood for safety. They survive the shipwreck but are stranded in an ocean realm and surrounded by ravenous sharks. Not only are they struggling to survive, but a crazed survivor tries to kill them. Not long after, Patrick is nearly killed by a shark when a ship arrives and saves them.
Different types of fiction change the way a story is told. Both “Hunters in the Snow” by Tobias Wolff and “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell use specific traits from literary and commercial fiction to develop their plots. “The Most Dangerous Game” is about a hunter named Rainsford who is traveling on a boat. One night he leans too far off the ship and falls. No one hears this fall and he can only swim to the nearest island, oblivious to its danger.
There may be nothing more terrifying than an attempt at your life by the very man that saved it in the first place. In the story “The Most Dangerous Game” the protagonist Rainsford falls off his yacht and is forced to swim. He lands on an island where his life is saved by a strange Russian named General Zaroff. The general seems like Rainsford’s savior until Rainsford discovers that he is planning on killing him in a so-called ‘game’ of hunting. In the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, Connell uses irony and foreshadowing to contribute to the mood of tension in the story.
Additionally, this shift in his reality would even affect how he recalled the rooms if you asked him years down the road. Deutscher explains this phenomenon, of experiencing a different reality, with a short story of a man, whose boat capsized in shark infested waters. While the interviewed man shared his story, he perfectly recalled the cardinal directions of the
