I am extremely honored to be eligible for this opportunity to apply for the National Honor Society. Becoming a member of the National Honor Society has been a goal I set for myself since I was a student in middle school. I have been greatly looking forward to this moment for a very long time. Overall, I have worked incredibly hard these last two years to display a positive character and obtain qualities such as leadership, responsibility, and scholarship. I strongly believe I will be a productive and reliable member of the National Honor Society at Harvard H. Ellis Technical High School.
When I was in class I was able to take part in everything and participate, well it took a few days for me to warm up to the new environment. I was asked by my choir teacher to join the school’s music enrichment, Advanced Singers. This was the year that music was helping me break out of my shell of being that shy person. As the school years went on I was involved in my high school’s musicals and have the pleasure of being a part of my high school’s honors choir. Being in the choir and participating in all of the music enrichments that my
As a candidate of National Honor Society, I possess the qualities as it will include leadership and character. I have taken the most difficult honor courses since the beginning of highschool and still maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout. Also, I have joined clubs to expand my knowledge of certain areas, which include DECA and Spanish Club. To add, I have been to two competitions, including this year 's Academic Team. Furthermore, I lead some of my classes, teaching them how do some of the work while having patience and confidence as I help them.
“And the winners of the Tuttle Middle School American Legion Awards for 2011 are Alyssa Yund and Justin Raters” announced the assistant principal at the time, Rex Ryker, in a congratulatory tone. I have never been more grateful and proud of an accomplishment in my life until this one. Scoring high on exams, making the high honor roll, and earning awards for my academics over the years have been satisfactory accomplishments on my behalf, but earning this award seemed the most important accomplishment to me. This accomplishment marked a significant transition between my childhood and adulthood within my culture. Most importantly, this award taught me life lessons that have shaped me into the individual that I am today and that will endure with me eternally.
One goal I have been working for is being selected for the National Honor Society. It has been an honor to be considered for the NHS. Working hard as a freshman and as a sophomore has eventually paid off. Team work, hard work, and success are how I would define NHS. I believe I would be a valuable addition to the NHS committee because I have the ability to set examples and exceed
Brookdale was named one of the top community college in New Jersey and can really help you transfer into a good school because of their connection. I have learned so much of my time at Brookdale and feel like I could be ready for a four year college because of Brookdale. Furthermore, going to Brookdale was a good choice for me because I am getting good grades. Because I made a commitment into getting a good education and not slacking off I am finally getting good grades. During my time in high school, I would get Bs and Cs, but now at Brookdale, I am getting grades I could only dream of and also enjoy learning athte same time.
I feel as if I possess all of these characteristics and I will make me positive contribution into the National Honors Society. Grades are extremely important, especially in junior year of high school because it is an opening for greater opportunities in the future. My first priority of excelling in school. I am currently number 13 in my class out of 362 students. This means I challenge myself with rigorous courses by taking AP, UCONN, and honors classes.
I would like to start off by saying thank you for considering me for the National Honors Society. It has been a desire of mine since I started high school to be in the National Honors Society. School is my main focus. Last year my grade point average was about a 3.7 and with this school year, I am going to work hard to raise it. I am in band, FCCLA, and Trend.
The reason why I am academically successful in high school comes down to my work ethic. I personally believe that as long as a student works hard in high school, they can get good grades. I have friends who do not work as hard as they could and it reflects in their grades. Not to say that they have bad grades because they do not, but, if they put more effort into school they could have significantly higher GPA 's. However, work ethic, while important, is not they only necessary trait to be successful in college.
Even when I get home from work late, I still give 110% to my studies. Besides my family, my academics are the most important thing to me. I also feel that I am the right person for this organization because of my leadership roles at Dairy Queen. Every time that a new employee is hired I am expecting to train and mentor them. Not only have I been a leader at work, but I have also been a teacher at my church every summer and during vacation Bible school.
I am deeply honored to be given the opportunity to join the National Honor Society and be among some of the most exceptional students in our school. Being given this opportunity shows my family and myself that I’ve truly worked as hard as I can to succeed. Growing up around adults with a good work ethic has taught me to see the reality in life. Working hard will help create a better future. I not only work hard in my classes but I also participate in sports which gives me the experience of being a leader.
The National Honor Society is an exceptional organization that allows students to help the needy, children, the elderly, and non-profit organizations. I would be excited to join such a society because of the limitless opportunities it presents to me. Joining NHS would allow me to grow as a person, and do as much as I can for others. Throughout my years as a student, I have shown great examples of scholarship, leadership, character and service that I believe would qualify to join this prestigious society. As Wikipedia defines it, the word scholarship means academic study or achievement; learning at a high level.
