The Renaissance era was the end of the Middle Ages and was the beginning of the contemporary period. It was a time where cultural movements flourished and the intellectual basis—humanism—arose. Humanism was a movement that believed that the human mind had limitless potential. It gave humans more freedom rather than following dogmas and superstitions. It was the start of the more scientific and logical age, based on evidence rather than beliefs and religion.
The start of the Renaissance was filled with horror and death, but by the end everyone started to believe in Humanism and in themselves. When Humanism started art, literature, astronomy, and anatomy started to evolve and become more and more true (ren. packet).Before the Renaissance started to evolve everyone thought that they were full of sin and that everyone should die (doc. B).Humanism influenced people during the Renaissance in at least two ways such as literature and astronomy. Literature was one of the things that were seen differently during the Renaissance because of Humanism.

During this historical period humans stared evolving by becoming smarter and inventing useful recourses that have changed the world. The Renaissance was a period of great advancement throughout Europe. It lasted from the 14th century to the 17th century. The Renaissance heavily affected Europe’s society in many ways. The Renaissance affected society by changing art, education, and Christianity .
The Renaissance, which began in the 14th century at the end of the Medieval Period and continued until the 17th century in Europe, was a movement of “rebirth” of the classical Ancient Greek and Roman culture and a new interest in science. Through the Renaissance, Europe was able to develop in every field and produce a lot of great and influential people as well as many masterpieces. Renaissance also brought many new ideas which caused changes that built the foundations of revolutions such as the Reformation, which is a religious movement that rejected the Roman Catholic doctrine and practice and started the Protestant sects (Merriam Webster). The Renaissance encouraged people to increase their interest in learning and question their lives and the Church, which in turn triggered the advent of the Reformation that questioned the validity of the Roman Catholic Church. One of the main Renaissance thinking, ‘humanism’, which put emphasis on humans, influenced people’s perspectives about lives and the Catholic Church.

As its name suggests, it was a period of rebirth of interest in Classical antiquity, which marked the end of Medieval times when the Church exerted a powerful influence over society. The High Renaissance was a period in time (although some historians believe it to be a movement) where the Renaissance culminated. It took place in the “quarter century between 1495 and the death of Leonardo da Vinci in 1519 and Raphael in 1520” (Kleiner 600). During these times, artist reached what is now known as “fine arts” and their artwork gave them prestige because it paired with the high status that only poetry had held. Artist-genius emerged in Italy during the Renaissance and they became known internationally, some great examples are Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael and Michelangelo.
The High Renaissance was about naturalism and the artists from that time captured that ideal in impeccable detail, creating art that was and still is something to marvel at. One example of this is Leonardo da Vinci's Madonna of the Rocks (Fig 17-2, 1483-1490, oil on wood (transferred to canvas)). Madonna is an amazing work in which da Vinci captured the softness of the moment perfectly in the expressions and movements of the characters as well as the lighting of the scene. Another work from the High Renaissance that shows off incredible detail is Raphael's Philosophy, also known as School of Athens (Fig 17-9, 1509-1511, Fresco). Raphael's imagining of this gathering of great minds is large in scope and detail.
Renaissance Humanism was the period of time in which many social and religious systems were being challenged after the austerity of the Middle Ages. The idea of humanism is that individuals could define their lives and live happily on earth without constant worry of the afterlife. People of the Middle Ages were expected to have a duty to the Church, and not be interested in much else. Many people of the Renaissance were conflicted between the medieval ideas of faith and the humanist ideas of reason. Scientific study also advanced from medieval ideas during this time.
This was the intellectual movement known as humanism. This way of thinking set importance to human potential, ability, achievements, and capability, over divine and supernatural beliefs. Humanism challenged the Church. During the Renaissance, the belief in humanism resulted in the deviation from Medieval scholasticism. They neglected and almost "ignored" the discoveries made during the Dark Ages and revisited the views during the ancient Roman and Greek eras.
How did the Renaissance lead to the development of the Modern State The Renaissance influenced the creation of the modern era, The Renaissance was a time where Europe revisited and reinvigorate. The Renaissance in Europe expanded from the 14th century to the 16th and it was the time of major social, culture, political and economic changes. This time stands by resurgence of art, architecture, literature, science and philosophy. It was an era in which stood out the creativity, innovation and imagination (Leinhard).
