The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is a charity that is established both locally and inter-nationally. The first Ronald McDonald House Charities location was open on October 15, 1974 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The first Ronald McDonald House Charities location that was open globally was in 1985, it is located in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The original concept for the Ronald M. House Charites were to make it a “home away from home” for people. The Ronald M. House Charities are funded by donations, special community events, and the special boxes located in the Ronald McDonald restaurants. This charity was founded to benefit people with critical needs. The Charity has three different ways to help families. They are the Ronald McDonald …show more content…

They give out grants and scholarships to students. The House also award grants to non-profit organizations to benefit children around the world. They award millions of dollars to organizations that focus on providing access to health care. Some of the organizations that were awarded grants are Burma Humanitarian Mission, Global Emergency Care Collaborative, and the Seva Foundation. Majority of awards goes to organizations who work on a global scale such as these mentions. The scholarships that are awarded are to aid students to be able to afford the education they want. They have given awards that are totaling over $56 million to students since 1985. The scholarships they award are RMHC/Scholars, RMHC/Asia, RMHC/African-American Future Achievers, and the RMHC/HACER. I volunteered at my local chapter for my senior year of high school. I got to work with the phenomenal staff at the chapter. I had the pleasure of meeting families who were very strong. This organization has a very favorable standing from my point of view. This is probably one of the best charities in the U.S. and around the world due to their timeless efforts to support families in need. Finally, the RMHC is a positive global influence. They give out millions in grants and scholarships to organizations and students. They have diverse ways of providing the care any family needs by the House, Family Room, or Care Mobile. This charity is value orientated making sure to make each location “a home away from home”. They support over 5 million families around the world last year and are tirelessly working to bring care everywhere.
