Illegal immigrants evidently have had the ability to leach off of the American government, due to Obamacare. Illegal immigration is without a doubt one of the most attention needing problems the United States faces. The adversity devised from the jobs that illegal immigrants have apprehended from US citizens is formidable. President Trump has promised that he will reform the immigration laws and following his presidential campaign promise, building a large wall that separates Mexico and The United States. Building the wall reassures the population that we are indeed safe, we are a powerful country and there is no free ride in the land of hope and possibility.

Immigration can be viewed as something that has forever blessed or plagued this country. Perspective plays a big role in the discussion of illegal immigrants that enter America daily. With American society becoming more and more prejudice in each decade since Martin Luther King had his “I Have a Dream” speech Blacks are not the only ones on the discrimination list. This problem has since began to come to a head under President Trump and his term. Unbeknownst to many who support the deportation of illegal immigrants wholeheartedly, immigrants add to the society just as much as people fear they’ve been taking. The reality of the situation is a lot more difficult to decipher because you can’t truly blame the actions of some immigrants as a reason to hate them all

With the current election raging, illegal immigration has been the hot topic amongst both liberals and conservatives. Many conservatives believe that illegals steal jobs, abuse tax benefits, and, most importantly, threaten their way of life. Liberals, on the other hand, support immigration reform based purely on sympathy. They understand that many Latin Americans go through extreme measures to escape hopeless situations back home. While there’s nothing wrong with sympathy for our fellow humans, it may serve to be beneficial to look at immigration reform through the lens of reason.

Throughout the history, different medias-(Movies, tv shows, novels, songs) tackle the topic of teenage society.  Jerad Hess, the director of the film Napoleon Dynamite, used many satirical device such as Exaggeration, Parody, irony, to interpret the life of a teenager in Idaho . The representation of teenage society in Napoleon Dynamite express the ups and downs of teenage life and mock/ exaggerate the life of teenegers and other contemperoty problems and situations.

Every year illegal immigrants come into our country and with them they bring their children. Roughly a million children are brought here yearly as their parents seek better lives for their families. That’s where the United States struggles to enforce laws and kick them out because they’re young and most likely had no say in whether or not to enter our country. I sympathize for the kids no doubt, but the fact that they have entered the country illegally is unacceptable; for according to the rule of law, no person is above the law nor below it. According to the law, it is ILLEGAL to enter the United States without going through the process of naturalization. This is why I believe that illegal immigrants, whether man, woman, or child should be deported back to the country from which they came.

The first piece of artwork I critiqued was the famous Virgin of Guadalupe. The Virgin of Guadalupe is currently exhibited in the Basilica of Guadalupe in Mexico City. The piece of art is not solely a painting, but an enconchado. It was made into wood, and it essentially creates a reflective surface that appears as moving. Also, I like how they explain their theory on the woman of the apocalypse and how it relates to this piece of art. It also implies that she was standing on the moon, showby by the angel on the bottom of the artwork, supporting her. Juan Diego was an indigenous man who who underwent a vision conquest in which the Virgin of Guadalupe spoke to him in his language, and requested for him to put a shrine in her honor at the top

The definition of satire is a work that ridicules its subjects through the use of four techniques such as exaggeration, reversal, incongruity, and parody in order to make a comment or criticism about it. The book Cat’s Cradle is a great example of satire being portrayed.

When it comes to urban legends and conspiracy theories, there is one urban legend in particular that comes to mind; Area 51. Area 51 is a United States military base located just north of Las Vegas, Nevada. It is a place whose existence the U.S. government long spurned to acknowledge, until now. On August 16th, 2015, the CIA released declassified documents about the history of the U-2 plane. These documents officially acknowledge Area 51. Furthermore, the Air Force states that the purpose of the base is to test experimental pieces of military hardware. However, the base is famous for other reasons. There are various conspiracies that are linked to Area 51. Some divulge that it was the location at which the government recorded the famous moon landing. Others assert that the Majestic 12, a secret committee of scientists recruited by President Truman to track down the various UFOs that were spotted in U.S skies, is really a committee planning the New World Order on the base. But there is one Area 51 conspiracy that dominates them all, the idea that Area 51 is housing aliens. Like all the other theories stated above this one is false. Area 51 is not a secret facility that quarantines aliens and reverse engineers their technology. This theory lacks adequate evidence. It is palpable that this theory is false.

Social media has inspired a stronger set of issues in the lives of the current youth, according to Shannon Purtle in “Why Social Media Should Be Left Alone”, specifically issues dealing with authenticity. In a time when social media is on the rise, Purtle addresses the lacking of real connections and endangerments surrounding magnified typical teenage issues caused by those programs within the lives of young Americans. As a teenager, or young adult, there is an immense amount of exposure to assimilation from one self-conscious teen to the next unsure teen. Through using satirical strategies such as an ironic tone, ridiculous and contradicting rhetoric, ironic questions and analogies to common phrases, Purtle

Drugs are the dangerous substances that will destroy the consumer both physically and mentally; therefore, it is necessary to determine these substances restrictively. In order to do that, I am strongly assuring that the drugs should be legalized. There are three main reasons why the drugs should be legalized: diminution of crime rates, health guarantee, and extending of drugs regulation.

Our family can only eat whatever we grow on a small plot of land located a short way from our house. We have no other form of income so if we are unable to pick anything to eat from the land we go without food on that day. This happens a lot and we regularly go several days without any food at all. When we do pick vegetables from the land it’s very rarely enough for the whole family to be fed so my husband and I have to decide who will eat that day. He realized it needed to be fixed. Swift’s strong beliefs pushed him to write satire to try and help Ireland. Swift’s satire consisted of many “modest theories.” For example, you may have heard people talk about overpopulation. You may have your own theories about it, but what about eating children? In this instance, Jonathan Swift used his form of humor, also known as satire, to get his point across, in which wrote a pamphlet called “A Modest Proposal,” a mockery for the ideas of how to deal with overpopulation.

Satire is the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues. A literary work in which human foolishness or vice is attacked through irony, derision, or wit. Mockery is teasing and contemptuous language or behavior directed at a particular person or thing. Also the behavior or speech that makes fun of someone or something in a hurtful way. “The Rape of the Lock” by Alexander Pope and “My Satirical Self” by Wyatt Mason from The New York times are both about satire and mockery. Therefore, after reading the above sources, one can infer that the satire reflects today’s society in many ways.

However, others people believe the Conspiracy to be a joke. They claim it as “Just another unlucky spot in the ocean.” Some even considered the disappearances to be “hoaxed” or faked, and the government covered up the truth.
