In today’s reality, sedentary behaviour has become the norm to characterize many of the work conditions and space. This message campaign idea will address the epidemic of sedentary behaviour in the workplace. Given the hierarchical and bureaucratic structures of many corporations and organizations, the solution to reduce sedentary behaviour in the workplace extends beyond an individual employee’s control. It is the desired outcome of this campaign to raise the awareness of this issue among workplace decision makers, therefore this campaign will target senior and upper management to lead a change in the workplace sedentary behaviour environments, increasing employee’s capacity to engage and maintain their physical wellbeing, even while at work. …show more content…

The benefit of this article is its definition of what entails sedentary behaviour. It categorizes sitting as the behaviour that defines what sedentary behaviour is about. It addresses the prevalence of sedentary behaviour in workplace settings particularly this phenomenon has increased over the last century due to advances in technology. Ultimately the study discusses barriers and strategies in implementing a workplace environment that reduce sedentary behaviour and enhance workers’ or employees’ physical wellbeing.
This study was a mixed-methods study. Some of the barriers mentioned include the workplace culture and the normalization of the sedentary behaviour. Furthermore this issue is exacerbated by the physical infrastructure of workplaces that inhibit one’s ability to be active. Connecting these findings to the mentioned health campaign, it sheds light on the critical role that senior management can play in changing workplace culture and influencing employees’ attitudes towards sedentary behaviour. Obesity is a preventable medical condition, as a matter of fact, adults who are trying to avoid obesity can participate in a physical activity that involves movement for about 15-30 minutes a day that is all it takes. Physical activities is not only good for adults but for children as well. This essay is to inform adults about their health, the cause of obesity and how it can be prevented. According to, The Burden of Obesity in North Carolina", "no physical activity and unhealthy eating combined are the second leading preventable cause of death",(p.6). In order to avoid stroke, cancer, diabetes and obesity,none has to be physically active and change their eating habits, if they are eating unhealthy.

It can be drawn from the picture that the females who are 45 to 54 years old did the most exercise; the amount of it is up to 53.3%. On the contrary, the group of people aged 65 and over ranks the least among the women, and it accounts for 47.1%. Wellness incentives in businesses would be a step in the right direction to help us become a stronger nation. Over the last decade the world has seen a climb in obesity, causing non communicable diseases. Adults should be an example to our children but due to the prevalence of food and sedentary life style it can be hard to be healthy with temptation all around us.
A person should have an average of 60 minutes of physical activity a day in order to lead a healthy and fit life. We should all strive to work towards getting off the couch and reducing screen-time to lead less sedentary lives. This, in fact, encourages weight loss. People who lead more stress free lives and give themselves more free time are living better and longer. When we are constantly doing something, we are stimulating our nervous systems to the point of exhaustion, which can lead to dozens of addition health issues.
