INTRODUCTION
Present advanced world is called the Age of Anxiety and Stress. Stress is becoming a part of human life and every individual faces stress in his life. Today stress is a subject which is very difficult to avoid. We find stress everywhere. It would be within the family, institution and any other social or economic activity. The concept of stress was first introduced in the life sciences by Hans Selye in 1936, who defined it as “the non- specific response of the body to any demand for change” (Stress, 2013). But its scientific meaning was in fact given in early 20thcentury; stress is the processes that occurs in response to the situations or events that disrupts our physical or psychological functioning (Lazarus & Follc man 1984, …show more content…

From the result, it was found that increase in interpersonal and intrapersonal stressors affected the academic performance while academic stress brought positive result in the performance, Neelufer Aslam and his partner study on “Impact of stress on academic performance among post graduate students” revealed that academic performance has three stressors. The correlation analysis was used to find the relationship between the three stressors and GPA. The result explained that there was no significant relationship between the three stressors and the GPA. However there was a negative correlation found between the academic stressors and the GPA e. The finding suggested that there was a negative correlation between academic stress and GPA which means that an increase in academic stress decreases GPA, Kumari & Gartia, study on “Relationship between Stress and Academic Achievement of Senior Secondary School Students” was to find the relation between stress and academic achievement of senior school students. A sample consist of 120 students from six senior secondary school of North Western Delhi were randomly selected. The result of the study explained that there existed a difference in academic achievement of students having high, moderate and less stress.
