As a society we are in danger of creating an expanding, perpetuating and toxic circle. We believe that young people face intolerable strain from an education system which cannot stand failure. From an early age, children face the pressure to perform in exams to boost their schools image. Aggression and anger attracts attention. Striking out at whoever seems responsible for the problem brings temporary relief. But aggressive actions, like drinking too much, driving recklessly, swearing at people, and breaking up things, can cause trouble in the long run. Just leave me alone!”

Rhetorical Analysis In the article “Is Google Making us Stupid?”, author Nicholas Carr expresses his idea that the internet is taking over society and our thinking process. Google is affecting our abilities to read books, longer articles, and even older writings. Carr believes that we have become so accustomed to the ways of the internet, and we are relying on Google 's ability to sort through the details for us so we don 't have to, in order to get the information we find necessary more efficiently. He finds that this process has become almost too handy, and that it is corrupting us from becoming better educated.
In “Is Google Making Us Stupid?”, Nicholas Carr argues that the Internet is the reason why people are losing their ability to focus, think critically, and is somehow hindering the brain. Carr speaks the thought that the Internet is effecting the way people, and himself think, live, and read. He shows this through examples from other people and his personal experiences. He thinks that it is not an intelligent thing to rely on a computer to give people information. Carr explains how since he spends a lot of time online, he is not able to focus on other things that are not involving the internet.
After reading the article “Is Google Making Us Stupid?” by Nicholas Carr, our group came to a decision that we agreed with Carr. Google is, in fact, making us stupid. Throughout the article, Carr emphasizes how our minds are changing as a result of the time we spend online. Throughout the article, Carr makes the argument that the internet has affected how human beings process and retain information. The problem with the internet that Carr addresses are that media does not just supply information to the users, it also shapes the thoughts that flow in the people's minds.

“The one place of connection that has the potential to be most stable for all children, teens, and adults alike is the family environment.” Teen suicide has many reasons behind it, some people may not know. As of 2015, 5 in 100,000 girls and 14 in 100,000 teenagers commit suicide (Lewis). Teenagers are becoming more vulnerable and schools seem to be taking no notice. If these lives could be saved, it would help so many families across the united states. The National Institute of Mental Health states that there “are as many as 25 attempts of suicide to every one that is actually committed” (Eco Child’s Play). Suicides can be prevented by treatment of the illness.

A word synonymous with despair and tragedy, this act may be taken due to several reasons but if focused on a particular demographic, such as college students, the reasons may be clearer. It is widely accepted that causes of suicides are largely (if not completely) mentally related. With high amounts of stress and pressure coupled with ever amounting expectations on still developing minds, it does not seem difficult to correlate why the rates of suicide among college students is steadily increasing.
Teens tend to revert to social media, which can damage their self esteem, if used improperly. They have extraordinarily high levels of stress, which can cause them anxiety, one of the biggest mental illnesses in correlation with suicide, including depression, bipolar disorders, and insomnia. If a teen has any of these problems, they are four times more likely to commit suicide. Education and parents can put massive expectations upon them, and if they fail to meet those expectations, they will feel as if they are a failure. It is the third leading cause of death kids age 5-24 and can be preventable if schools and parents were to ask young adults questions about having suicidal thoughts and education on where to go to receive help.

According to the research conducted by King and Vidourek (2012) early detection and suicidal warning signs is seen to be crucial for effective intervention. Teenagers need to be encouraged to be more proactive when it comes to their personal mental health. Positive coping mechanisms such as problem-solving skills, effective communication skills, and good conflict resolution skills are all essential in lessening the likelihood that a teen exhibiting depressive behaviors will go forth and take their own life. As most teenagers spend most of their time in school, better prevention and intervention programs need to be in place.
