Reliable, positive, and honest, these three adjectives are suitable to my characteristic. Firstly, I am a reliable person when doing assignments and projects in a group. Usually, through making a detailed plan beforehand and having a keen awareness to assignment’s deadline, I could not only finish my portion of work early but also be able to collaborate with other members in my group if they need me to do so. In the same time, I define myself as a positive person. It could be embodied in my attitude towards difficulty. We studied in the same elementary and junior high school back in China and coincidentally applied and ended up spending two years college life at the same university together. Although he transferred to another UC public school after our sophomore year, this unique brotherhood is still the invaluable treasure to me. Chang is about four-month older than me, and he has already been behaving much more sophisticated than his actual age. As an international student, he could start to set up a specific career plan working in the United States and could be confident to solve all kinds of daily-life problems in our very first year of studying abroad. Also, Chang is responsible for both assigned academic homework and various promises he made for his companion. On the other hand, because he tends to take others' responsibilities on his shoulders that he barely share his stress and worries to unfamiliar people. For most people who think they know him, would describe Chang as an outgoing and positive person because he like doing out-door running and driving for road trips with various groups of friends. However, every time we reunion together, he would remove his mask of toughness, and show me his hidden fragility. From Chang’s perspective, I hardly accept any request I consider it is impossible to achieve at first. Instead, he believes I would be willing to help others as long as I can do so. And for those seemingly impossible requests, I would first evaluate both my capability and the difficulty to achieve that particular goal, then provides necessary assistance as much as I could. Also, he would state that I am a person who cares family the most. Chang knows that I grew up with both of my parents and grandparents. Thus, in my freshman year summer, since my grandfather was diagnosed as severe pneumonia and even possibly lead him to respiratory failure, I decided to go back to China helping him to get through these diseases every long vacation I would have. It has already been more than two years till now. Admittedly, because of spending a considerable amount of time with my grandfather, Chang often remind me I missed a few academic opportunities and reunion with my Chinese friends. But he also knows without my family’s support; I would achieve nothing worthy. For the recent two years, I gradually feel grateful to my family and more likely to treat it as the essential meaning of my life.
