This causes them unable to obtain freedom because they are undermined as citizens. An immigrant wouldn’t know what to expect when they got to their new home, many scared and nervous, some may be excited to start their life in a new and better country. Besides all of those things they all have something in common: they are immigrants. Interracial marriage was something society also did not like. One interracial couple went to washington to get
There are many other traps around America that deceive the immigrants because their weakness of not knowing English and the desire of getting a great life in America which lead them unpreparedly get fooled by the businessmen. These traps prevented the immigrants from leaving America, because of the significant amount of debt that they have to pay each month, which forced them to keep working and become the slave of this capitalistic society in America. Unfortunately, even they work very hard, in most of the time they will not get anything in return, such that Jurgis’s family cannot even keep the house at the of the book and many of family members’ health destroyed by the harsh working conditions in the
There’s fear of going to jail, but there is also fear of being deported and never being able to come to the USA. But why is that? It is true because many people want to support their family, give them a good future or even sometimes the children want a better future for themselves and help their parents into a better house and city. Not many people can get an opportunity like that, because immigration laws are too strict. HOW DOES DEPORTING HELP THE COUNTRY ?
Some homeless people are disqualified to get a job because they not go to school. Which makes it harder for them to read a newspaper, get a driver’s license or even to fill out a job application. The lack of education is causing more and more people to become homeless every day. Not having an education can put many people out in the streets. Instead of ignoring the fact that homeless people are struggling, someone should help the need instead of helping the people who do not need the
In the novel “Out of this Furnace,” Bell suggests that most immigrants came to America seeking a better life, but faced the hard truth of inhuman labor (23). With the lack of education, Kracha couldn 't speak English, therefore, Kracha faced the lack of communication, also because the lack of education Bell suggests immigrants made no effort in practicing their freedom and sets Kracha as an example (66). But lack of education wasn’t the only thing that impeded immigrants to vote, in a discussion with Mike, Kracha makes a comparison between the emperors and the millionaires, “they run the country to suit themselves, and don 't think they 're going to let you interfere every few years with your miserable vote.” (67).In other words, Kracha voiced his opinion on the real results of the voting, Kracha insists that big millionaires and banks, pressure workers into voting for a certain runner, only to benefit
This negatively affected the people who were migrating and were in direct competition for jobs with longer- established residents and would keep creating conflict with those people. “Many people were not able to make a living in drought-stricken regions and were forced to migrate to other areas in search of a new livelihood. ("Drought in the Dust Bowl") Many people had no choice to leave which affected them in a personal way because they had to forced to leave in search of a new livelihood because they will mostly not survive through the Dust Bowl.”In addition, because of poverty and high unemployment, migrants added to local relief efforts, sometimes overburdening relief and health agencies. ” ("Drought in the Dust Bowl")People were super poor and were not making enough money to pay for things while migrating so this would affect people and families and it was too much for relief and health agencies.“The poor economy displaced more than just farmers as refugees to California; many teachers, lawyers, and small business owners moved west with their families during this time. ( "Dust Bowl")The wealth and
Many of these people that get sponsored never become citizens, work under the table which makes it impossible for them to pay taxes. Instead of helping our economy they have added to our population, taken away potential jobs for actual tax paying citizens. This strain on our country is totally avoidable if we were stricter on what constitutes someone as a natural born citizen. By regulating our visa’s more thoroughly so that when they expire people aren’t able to slip through the cracks, also better monitoring of our boarders and harsher punishment to violators. Would make people think twice about entering into our country illegally.
There are limitations for aid to services or vouchers in the welfare reform. However, the transfer of public assistance can “rob Peter to pay Paul” (Dr. Jerry Marx 2004). Meaning citizens of America are paying for low income families to make a living, and some of these families are taking an advantage of the welfare system so they don’t have to support themselves. As long as they make the requirements they’ll keep having kids and live on it rather than trying to make a living. This creates higher taxes for American citizens because so many families just repetitively use the program, instead of striving to be better.
People were afraid and concerned since they had a major insufficiency of jobs, supplies and shelter. Many companies began to enforce wage cutbacks and increased workload. Relief was not being offered to all the unfortunate Canadians who did not have a job. Many people were laid off from factories which meant that supplies were scarce as not many people could afford to provide for their family’s, people turned to the government to find a solution. I believe that their expectations were much too high as the government was struggling too.
My source claims that poverty is a big problem in certain countries, yet most people aren't doing anything about it, they're too focused on themselves. Banksy claims that society is selfish and ungrateful. Mondays have become a big thing to be mad about anywhere, society seems to hate waking up early and doing work, yet in other countries people are dying due to lack of clean food. An argument that is linked with Idols of the tribe is society feeling like nothing is enough. Society feels that having to do tasks is just plain boring and makes life bad.
