Kids are Kids-Until They Commit Crimes Summary Response

The article, “Kids are Kids-Until They Commit Crimes” by Marjie Lundstrom, is about how kids are charged as adults in America’s courts. The courts started charging kids as adults for their crimes. 12 year old Lionel Tate was charged with first-degree murder as an adult. Also, 14 year old Thomas A. Preciado stabbed a mini mart clerk to death. He was also tried as an adult. Proposition 21 was passed down, which means judges have to decide whether kids should be tried as adults. It depends on how violent the crime is. Many people still consider kids as “adults” when they commit horrific crimes.
