Dodge Ball The game of dodge ball has became an concern all over the world. This is because principals in Elkton Maryland, New Hampshire have recently banded dodge ball from their physical education curriculum. They decided to do this because dodge ball was inappropriate and against what they were trying to teach not to bully. Many principals have now considered banning it too. I think that dodge ball should be banned because it is inappropriate, a human target game, and against what teachers are trying to teach about bullying.
Dodge ball should be banned because kids are used as targets. Slamming balls into your classmate's face my be fun for you but it do hurt your classmate. The balls can leave stings that hurt. Some kids can’t catch
The Dodgeball Conflict “OUCH NOT THE FACE.” Lots of kids who aren't as athletic as most people say this. School principals in Elkton Maryland believe that dogeball is against everything that they try to teach us. For this reason, they banned it very recently in P.E. I think that dodgeball should be banned.
Today, we live in a world where media professional athletes receive an incredible amount of attention from the media; much more attention than these athletes would like. No matter where they are, on the field or off the field, every action an athlete makes is being recorded. Most athletes can’t deal with the pressure. There are daily reports of athletes involved in murder, stealing, drug use, rape, domestic violence and many others. These types of reports seem to dominate the news.
Authors often use persuasive techniques such as Ethos, Pathos, and Logos to help support the claim being made. In the articles “Position on Dodgeball in Physical Education,” by The National Association for Sport and Physical Education, and “The Weak Shall Inherit the Gym,” by Rick Reilly, both authors focus on using persuasive techniques to make claims about the relevance of dodgeball in physical education. To begin, in the article “Position on Dodgeball in Physical Education” the National Association for Sport and Physical Education uses Ethos and Pathos to support their claim on why Dodgeball should be banned from schools. For instance, when trying to explain the purpose of PE, the author states, “NASPE believes that dodgeball is not an
Jessica put it rightly when she gives an example of the game where parents started fighting with each other over a children's game. All of this leads to making children feel like that the sport is more sort of a job where they have to prove themselves rather than something they could
there should not be coed sport By jt morgan I think coed sports should not be allowed at school guys have been playing with guys for ever and girls have been playing with girls for ever so why change it. Guys are the dominant sex that's the way it always has been and that's for a reason we are stronger bigger and faster that's the way we are built and girls are built different guys have a thing called testrone and that makes us who we are bigger faster and stronger girls don't have that so they are smaller weaker and slower don't get me wrong there some girls that are better than some guys but the majority is we are bigger. Guys play harder than girls and the girls might get hurt and nobody
Should middle school students have recess? Middle school students should not have recess at all. This is because they need to grow and mature, they could get distracted from their missing work, and there is more of a chance to get hurt. You may think differently, but there is no denying the facts that prove my opinion. Middle school is a time in a kids life where they have more responsibilities, yet still are allowed to be a child.
1st Draft Many people see steroids as a bad thing, but some medicines that doctors give to us contains anabolic steroids. We asked the question should we use steroids or should we ban the use of steroids. A list of articles i found tell tell us and argue about the use of steroids and the types of steroids.
Starting off in the first paragraph the author uses logos to show how he feels about the subject of the article. He explains that “dodgeball [is] outlawed by some school districts in New York, Texas, Utah, and
Tackling in Youth Football Should be Banned Imagine a nine year old boy who loves laughing. He is energetic, and it seems like he is always doing something. He is getting ready for the big football game later one afternoon. He has been waiting for this day for two weeks; it is finally here.
Contact sports are the reason kids are getting hurt. Contact sports are good for kids. The Federal and state government should stop kids under 10 to stop playing contact sports because 45% of kids under 10 getting hurt are from contact sports and 5% of the time its ending that kids chances to play sports in the feature, Not to mention contact sports can also make kids go to their fullest and being burned out and although contact provide some kids will useful tools in life most of the time there is more negative than positive.
Principles had a meeting with the school board and the vote was 4 to 1 to remove the game. Dodgeball is not ok. Because if you're a kid that, maybe can't catch that great or your slow and you get out right away and sit on the sideline the whole rest of the period. That's not a good exercise. Also some kids try to get out on purpose!
Because of this, banning contact sports won’t mean no physical activity; other sports are still available to them and children most likely will go pick a different sport to play. Therefore contact sports should be banned for children under 18. In conclusion, contact sports are a dangerous sport because of the high chance of injury and the risk of brain damage so children under 18 should not be able to play it. Although obesity could become a problem, it most likely won’t because more children are getting active and playing other sports.
Children tend get bullied where there is little to no adult supervision. Some of the most common places are not only playgrounds, but also in cafeterias, hallways, bathrooms, and locker rooms. Aggressive behavior at times can be intense, even when its rates of occurrence are low. Although the rate of aggression on playgrounds and at recess are incredibly low, hurting a child physically or mentally should never be tolerated. As a supplement to recess, physical education was given a deep consideration.
Yes, bullying is a very big problem in schools, but in the reading the author had a good point. The author states “It is true that kids get bullied on the playgrounds, but they get bullied in the cafeterias, too and in the hallways, in bathrooms, in locker rooms, just about anywhere with little to no adult supervision.” (Pellegrini, 2008) So what does that tell you, if we take away recess bulling will stop, probably not, it can happen anywhere at any time. This tells us the importance of adult supervision is in all areas of the school.
Bullying in Schools What seems fun and harmless for some students, is painful and degrading to others. Bullying has been a critical issue around schools, but before it was not as dangerous and know as it is now. These do not means bullying was not happening, it means it was not taken into consideration by parents or teachers. They thought it was just peer pressure or a kids game, and sooner or later the kids would be friends again. At one point, bullies think it’s normal to be mean and abusive to other students.
