During my summer vacations, I was dying of boredom, so I did what every other normal fourteen years would do, I decided to read the book "Lightning Thief" by Rick Riordan, an epic tale of action and adventure with just the right pinch of humour. This book is purely based greek mythology. The book is set in the 21 century and revolves around a 12-year-old boy Percy Jackson whose entire life changes with a simple visit to the beach. Imagine this, you wake up one morning, learn that your best friend is the half goat, get attacked by your English teacher, who turns out to be a fire-breathing monster, get blamed for stealing the most powerful weapon on earth, oh and adding to that you casually get informed that your long lost day is the Greek
Percy jackson and the olympians lightning thief is the modern version of the Danus,Perseus and the gorgons using theme concepts,hero types and archetypes,hero's journey and plot structure. Having good vs evil and the prodigy. First,percy needed to find pearls to help get him self to the underworld to save his mom,He had to find all 3 pearls to get back or it would be hard getting back, In perseus he would do anything to help his mom. Percy was searching for the pears he ran into enemies like medusa,Perseus had to go find her because he didn't have a present to give her.

I found the book Percy Jackson The Lightening Thief in middle school during our book fair. The cover intrigued me into buying it and see what it was about because I had no clue. I remember getting excited that it was about Greek mythology because I never knew that it existed, and I wanted to know more about it. The way James Patterson, the author, started it had me hooked. The first chapter Percy was just minding his business on a school field trip and then all the sudden his teacher transforms into a demon like creature and tries to hurt him and asks him where the lightening bolt of Zeus was.

Trials exemplifying Percy’s growth include: the furies, Medusa, the Saint Louis Arch, the “Waterland” Waterpark, the Lotus Hotel, Crusty’s Waterbed Palace, and Hades and the Underworld.

While both the movie and the book are based around the same story they ended up being drastically different from each other.
I first wanted to read your book Percy Jackson and the Lightning thief when I watched the movie and when i did i was amazed. I loved how the book had some comedy while also maintaining the mood of action. My favorite character throughout the book had to be Grover. This is because he will stick with Percey no matter what and protect him. Grover was also funny and weird, like when he eats cans or the fact that he has goat legs.
