Andrew Jackson was an awful President, and he does not deserve to be on America’s currency. At the beginning of his presidency, he fired all of the district attorneys, and replaced them with his supporters. This was called the spoils system. You could say Jackson was a racist because during his presidency, Jackson owned over three hundred slaves, who worked for him at the white house, and at the Hermitage Plantation. Jackson also created the Indian removal act and caused the trail of tears. The Indian removal act authorized Jackson to give the Indian federal land west of the Mississippi River in exchange for the land they occupied in the East and South.
