A common debate lately has been weather fast food should be served in schools or not. Some people believe that it should be allowed to be served because it is cheaper, but others believe that it should not. Fast food should not be served in schools because it causes health issues. For instance the ingredients in fast food and drinks can include lots of fat, oil, artificial sweeteners, and high fructose. Also, it causes test scores to go down, and it affects eating habits. First of all, one thing that is effective when serving fast food in schools is the considerable allergies involved. About 15% of adults in the US state that they have severe allergies to at least one kind of food (Funk). Allergies can lead to serious problems and changes, that could be to extreme, for something people think is so small. Likewise, This type of food can affect the eating habits people have, and health choices. Instead of eating the basic needs on a day to day basis, like fruits and vegetables, people decide to eat unhealthy fast food that can have major effect on the way people grow and how they live (Keuplee). If someone 's eating habits are changed, their whole lifestyle is changed. If people start to eat worse, they will start to extra sizes less, and become less productive. As well as the point that Fast food typically lacks fibre. The less fibre children consume, the more likely they are to develop constipation, which can cause abdominal pain and discomfort. once children have eaten fast food, they consume more calories and fewer nutrients for the rest of the day. On days when kids ate fast food, compared with days when they ate at home, adolescents and young children consumed an additional 309 and 126 calories. (Melcum). This is major because, lack of fibre and to many calories can impact people to gain weight, create irregular digestion, and get a chronic disease.
