Colonel Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain’s powerful speech provoked 114 men to fight alongside the Union Army once more because of the way he treated the soldiers. Chamberlain’s powerful speech persuaded all but 6 men to fight again. Chamberlain chose some powerful words, he connected to the men and understood their condition. Personal baggage, this is the flaw that juror three represents. Juror three was very stubborn throughout the movie, a personal issue with his son had caused his stubbornness. It may be seen as a flaw that each juror in the movie carried personal baggage, but the jury consists of peers of the accused, and without personal baggage would the jury system work the same? In Figure 1 juror three is represented by a square, he is very opinionated and snappy. Juror three was stubborn and didn’t consider the thoughts of other or the facts that others had brought up.

Robert Lee’s contributions to his nation begin before the Civil War in the Mexican-American War (1846-1848). The war between the U.S and Mexico began with the United State’s annexation of Texas in 1845 and disputes over land. Lee first starts to establish himself in his aid in the Battles of Cerro Gordo, Veracruz, Contreras, Churubusco and Chapultepec. These are valued by his nation and for his service, Lee received brevet promotions to lieutenant colonel and colonel. As a captain on the staff of General Winfield Scott, the battles including the Siege of Veracruz, Cerro Gordo and Contreras became the most crucial.

Although he had a profound legacy William the Conqueror’s early life had many conflicts, William the Conqueror’s had to show how worthy of an opponent he is and his death was unexpected, but even through the cold grasp death, he still lives on. William the Conqueror faced many challenges during his rise to power. The challenges he faced started the day he was born, “He was born in Falaise in 1028- his parents were unmarried” (Lords and Ladies). This posed a problem because being a child of an unmarried couple made you illegitimate and a mistake rather than a new life brought into the world. Being illegitimate did not stop William from being duke because he became duke at the mere age of eight (The History Learning Site).
