1.1 INTRODUCTION
The building construction industry is made up of different professionals whose various discipline is to ensure that construction work is completed on time and within the budgeted resources to meet the client’s requirements. The nature of the industry according to Adeyinka, Jagboro, Ojo, and Odediran (2013) is complex and dynamic.
The industry is fragmented and thereby requires the involvement of various professionals and specialist that work together to achieve a common goal (Gray 2000; Gido,Kerzner and Meredith, 2003 cited in Adeyinka, Jagboro, Ojo, and Odediran 2013).

Windapo and Rotimi (2012) cited in Ayeni and Adedeji (2015) observed the absence of engaging building professionals in construction work which has resulted to failed projects and poor functional performance; as building that meets desired performance requirements add value to national asset stock.
Aspect of building construction that ranges from the conceptualization to the planning stage, production of design, and the production process of the project requires adequate supervision and input from the construction professionals and stakeholders.
Effective site management according to Mohammed and Anumba (2006) cited in Jimoh (2012) involves a combination of activities which turns basic resources into a finished product. In line with this assertion, Obiegbu (2012) cited in Jimoh (2012) stated that construction can be seen as the conversion of raw resource inputs into defined functioning output by means of a managed process.
