The air isn’t safe to breathe in certain areas. Global warming is responsible for all this. B. Thesis: The causes of global warming and climate change are because of increased emissions of greenhouse gases, and the effects of this are rising temperatures and more severe natural disasters. II. Body A.
A combination of climate change, pollution and search for natural resources is threatening the fragile species and ecosystems within the Arctic region. Over the last two centuries the world's global mean temperature has increased by 0.6 degrees, noting this continuous change in global temperatures is too accelerated for the natural environment to adapt to. Much of this change in global temperatures is the result of c02 emissions being released into the atmosphere. Currently, 80% of the world's growing energy demands are met by the burning of fossil fuels which emit astonishing amounts of c02 into our atmosphere (3). As the name suggests, climate change references the change of the climate, unfortunately this is not limited to the fragile systems of
There are some specific waste and agricultural management practices that increase the burden on earth by releasing other global warming gases. These other gases include nitrous oxide and methane. Scientists claim that 95% of global warming is caused by the increasing concentration of the greenhouse gases and other activities made by humans. There are many causes of global warming coal burning, car and vehicles and methane gas.
In another article written by Amanda Macmillan summarizes the effects global warming has on nature due to the cause of overload of carbon dioxide and forest deforestation. First, the text states earth’s rising “temperatures are fueling longer and hotter heat waves, more frequent droughts, heavier rainfall, and more powerful hurricanes”, which is not good news for us living here on planet earth. And it doesn’t stop there-there are also the effects of global warming creating even more “intense allergy seasons”, and the frequent sea level rise happening around the world.obviously these problems are not convenient for us we shouldn’t ignore this any more change must come. Other major examples found on a website called livescience.com it states “heavier flooding and precipitation” will come in result of global warming, and over the last 100 years the global temp has gone up .4 degrees celsius. These stats might not seem like a lot but they are having drastic effects on our
Climate change otherwise known as global warming has been an ongoing issue for decades. Beginning in the 19th century, climate change has increasingly affected Earth and its atmosphere. Rising levels of carbon dioxide are warming the Earth’s atmosphere causing rising sea-levels, melting snow and ice, extreme fires and droughts, and intense rainfall and floods. Climate change has and will continue to affect food production, availability of water, and can add to many health risks in humans and animals. In fact, in an article by Justin Gillis titled, “Scientists Warn of Perilous Climate Shift Within Decades, Not Centuries” he focuses on a paper written by former NASA climate scientist, James E. Hansen, explaining the effects of climate change
Earthobservatory.nasa.gov. N.p., 2017. Web. 8 May 2017.) Overall global warming will impact life on earth in many ways but the extent of the change is largely dependent on human activities as scientist have shown that human emissions of greenhouse gases are pushing global temperatures up.
Climate change is a very serious and growing problem in our world today. It can be defined as a change in global or regional climate patterns, and is accounted for the increased levels of atmospheric CO2 produced by fossil fuels. There are various factors that partake in climate change both natural and human, but scientists believe the largest component is the greenhouse effect, (process by which radiation from a planet 's atmosphere warms the planet 's surface to a temperature above what it would be without its atmosphere). Some long-term effects of climate change can include an increase in heat waves and heavy precipitation, a decrease in sea ice, an increase in permafrost thawing, and decreased water resources in semi-arid regions (USGS Science for a changing world, Campbell).
Homero Castro Ms. Cabaj English IV, 3rd period 12 February 2018 Global Warming Global Warming is affecting the entire world. The issue of global warming is important because it’s affecting everyone. This problem is controversial because some people believe that that global warming isn 't real and others believe it is. There is evidence that global warming is real because some scientist agree that the earth 's rising temperatures is due to all of the pollution. My opinion on it is that it is clearly real and we need to do something to stop it.
One of the most important problems to this day is global warming. Global warming is the gradual warming of the Earth's surface and the lowest layers of the atmosphere caused by the greenhouse effect, which leads to global climate change. Climate has been changing since the Earth's past, but it is also considered that the current global warming is due to increased emissions of greenhouse gases. The last 100 years have seen the largest increases in temperature over the past 1300 years. People do not know how much they pollute the environment and what catastrophic consequences their actions could possibly bring.
1. Introduction: Carbon dioxide (CO2) is one of the important green house gases (GHGs) emitted in the atmosphere through various human and natural activities. The human activities include rapid industrialization and urbanization, deforestation, excessive use of fertilizers in agriculture, excessive use of fuels, papers and many other manmade resources whereas natural activities include volcano eruption, forest fires, earthquakes etc. Emission of GHGs in the atmosphere leads to global warming which is one of the primary reasons behind the atmospheric changes that affect the human life directly or indirectly. The consequences of global warming are extremely harsh seasons, untimely rains, extended summers and floods that results in human deaths, destruction of flora and fauna in addition to the huge economical losses.
