Being one with many opinions I find myself at odds with how to feel about Donald Trump. On one hand he is a pompous ass and on the other I find my own philosophy being tested as I respect everyone’s right to have opinion. In some cases I may even agree with what Donald is saying but his delivery method mostly comes off as sexist and racist, which is not what I think he means to say but that is how it is received.
Two recent news regarding racial discrimination is the controversial Mr. Donald Trump and his comments regarding Mexicans and also a recent strike held at many Universities around the United States protesting about discrimination at their schools. One recent racism act that we have all heard of is the rude and disrespectful man named Donald Trump. His rude comments about Mexicans were very offensive and disrespectful. He called all Mexicans criminals, drug dealers and rapist. His exact words were "They're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime.
Both “Donald Trump’s Sad, Lonely Life” by David Brooks and “The Art Of the Comeback: Donald Trump’ Debate W Propels Him Toward White House” by Matthew Boyle highlight the very intense presidential debates going on and illustrate how divided this country is. This election season has been one like no other so far with Donald Trump surprisingly winning the republican nominee even though he lacks much needed experience; versus Hillary Clinton whom most people expected to be the Democratic nominee and also has previous experience as the secretary of state. Both of these sources contain great favoritism and also contain a different purpose. This can be shown by the way that they describe the debate and how it reflects the media’s biased role by constantly presenting propaganda. Both of these articles are clearly biased and should not be used to decide on who to vote for; this is shown through their uses of rhetorical strategies such as tone, diction and audience.
On June 16, 2015, Donald Trump stepped on stage in Trump Tower in New York City and formally announced his plans to run for president. One of the largest focuses of his announcement speech centered on immigration, more specifically Mexican immigration. He made comments stating that Mexico is currently sending only sending the worst of its population such as rapist and drug dealers into the United States (Ye Hee Lee 2015). Trump is a recent example how the popular media influences the racial prejudice towards immigrants, however, this is not a recent development. Some of the first anti-immigrant sentiment is only a couple of centuries old.
Trump the Racist Don’t worry, none of this is offensive, Trump says, because he “loves the Mexican people” and “the Latinos love Trump.” Donald Trump’s relationship with his business partners has been in a spiraling down as he continues to refuse to apologize for his outrageous behavior. Trump has turned down every opportunity to take back his remarks regarding Mexican immigrants. Instead every time he talks about these issues they have only grown worse and more out of control. It is wise to say that Donald Trump is one of the most hated individuals by the Latino culture.
By now, anyone who has paid attention to this presidential election cycle understands how Donald Trump behaves. When attacked or criticized, the GOP Presidential Nominee “counterpunches” with his own attacks and criticism which almost always come out harsher and unconventional. In the media, his responding rhetoric is largely portrayed and spun as the latest “new low” for his candidacy. To his adversaries, Trump’s response further proves their point he 's “temperamentally unfit” to be the President of the United States. For his supporters and the multitude of neutral independents, it matters less what Trump says when countering attacks.
”According to Huffington Post he refused to condemn the white supremacists who are campaigning for him. CONCLUSION:( Restate thesis and summarize the three body paragraphs) As you can see Donald Trump has been called out for his ridiculous statements, overconfidence, and prejudice beliefs. He doesn't really do anything to help poor, and lower income people. He is very selfish, and just only helps the upper class.
Tuesday night, President Donald trump Trumptook the floor to inform the public about the state of the union. As he read his speech, he told the confident story of our growing nation. “This is our new American moment. There has never been a better time to start living the American dream,”. President Trump used the power of pathos throughout his speech to appeal to the patriotic society of America, and relate to the average American. In turn, introducing the idea of “America first” led to him appealing to ethics (Ethos) by revisiting his accomplishments during his first year in office.
Trump is one of the candidates running for the Republican Party bid for President of the United States. He wrote a three-page statement explaining why he believes that “the worst elements of Mexico are being pushed into the United States by the Mexican government”. In this statement, he explains that many of the Mexicans that come to America are drug dealers, rapists, and other criminals. This is all coming from a man that is viewed by millions of people as a plausible candidate for President of the United States. There will come a time where people that supports Trump, because of his discriminatory view on race, will act on those beliefs violently and without discrimination.
Joseph Epstein’s prejudices are fairly obvious in his article, “Trump and the Plutocrats Hubris.” His innate inevitable bias is reflected through his use of verbal irony, diction, and tone. He describes his childhood experiences with businesses and the notions of success in his conservative middle-class origins. He saw first hand the unspoken rules of economic prosperity in social environments, and applied them to the mindset of our President, Mr. Donald Trump, through literary devices.
An example of him being racist is when he claims that a judge was biased because he was ‘Mexican.’ Donald Trump even admits that he has been a little childish from the language that
Immigration is already a top issue in the 2016 presidential race, as it was in the previous election cycles. In 2012, harsh rhetoric dramatically affected the Republican Party’s appeal with Hispanic and Asian voters. In a result, the Republican lost over seventy percent of that vote in the presidential race. Looking toward the 2016 election, Trumph’s immigration rhetoric leaves Latino Population feeling disenfranchised. Of course, Trump is not the only Republican candidate who has been spouting anti-immigrant rhetoric, but he has been one of the most vocal and vitriolic.
His view conveys a tone of hatred towards President Trump. First, Bruni incorporates rhetorical questions to emphasize how President Trump is a stuck up person. Second, Bruni utilizes specific details as examples of how President Trump acts self-centered. Thrid, Bruni integrates vulgar diction to express his frustration towards President Trump. Bruni's editorial is significant because it expresses
President Roosevelt was prejudiced and had xenophobia against Americans of Japanese descent. President Trump is prejudiced against Americans of Hispanic and Muslim descent. If he remembered how that impacted America, he might not feel like building walls or preventing people from certain nations from entering the United States. As Senator John Kennedy wrote in his famous 1958 essay, “A nation of immigrants,” the current white-hot political debate over the contours of immigration reform has resulted in hateful rhetoric, profiling, stereotyping, and dehumanizing language about Hispanics, Muslims, and new immigrants to America.
Trump appeals to people with opposing viewpoints by using inclusive words and keeping the focus off of himself. It is not the things Trump will do, but it is the things that we, who “share one heart, one home, and one glorious destiny,” will
