According to the Thai culture, the previous generation of Thai people do not aware of the second language as much as it has to be. The main reason is we are nationalism and attach on our language. We accept other political concepts to govern but we do not accept the language cultural so the opportunities to study the second language is absurd. The result affects my experience in learning and applying the second language. The period of studying is long but I didn’t appreciate applying or developing myself. Therefore, there are several processes that I apply to develop my English expertise including (1) problem finding, …show more content…
In this faculty, all the lessons will be taught in English by the instructor. The instructor includes both foreigner and Thai. Asking my friend for the translation and clarification is what I perform. This is one consideration that motivates me to practice for the improvement. Another component occurs during I read the textbook. Almost all content in the book composes in English which describes the terminology of the word in ICT field. For this reason, I must spend lots of time translating the advanced jargon so it’s misspend of time. In particular, I absolutely promise to myself to work …show more content…
I easily catch up with the lecture that the instructor is describing. Asking my friend for translation is unnecessary. This is one matter that I proud of. However, in order to cover even the most advanced topics, the course moves through the material quickly. Consequently, this makes it difficult for beginners as they struggle to apply even foundational concepts learned in the beginning of the course when more ideas are being taught as the class progresses.
I have taken classes with you before, so I had no problem understanding the syllabus. It is surely not an easy course. I can see, there is lots of reading and time commitment is required to understand the material. Instructions are clear, as you have posted everything on the first page, there is no way to miss something. The best part of the reading is it is written in simple word but in a very interesting.
I know that I will make mistakes, but with every mistake, the instructor corrects I will learn more. I will make a strong attempt to do my best and go forward with each word I write. I am going to work hard on this course and learn to put words in place to express my ideas well. June 30, 2017, ENTRY 2:
I have never been able to watch my lectures and repeat them if for some reason I missed key information. Prior to this program, I have taken an online course and enjoyed it, but this course is a little different because of the video streams and other resources available. I absolute love the fact that audio streams are provided because I can put my ear plugs in, and listen to the lecture over and over again. I am the type of learner who needs to watch the lectures
In this essay excerpt Rodriguez had to give up speaking the comfortable language of Spanish at home and had to begin practicing English. Even though Rodriguez was disinclined to give up speaking Spanish and practicing English, whenever he was at school and spoke in English, his fellow classmate actually understood him. Rodriguez states, “One day in school, I raised my hand to volunteer an answer to a questions. I spoke out in a loud voice and I did not think it remarkable when the entire class understood.” By Rodriguez changing his language, he was more easily understood by his classmates.
A crucial thing that leads to success is practice. In Carol Dweck’s, Article You Can Grow Your Intelligence, She suggest that “new research show that the brain is more like a muscle-it changes and gets stronger when you use it.” What she really means is that the brain is like a muscle the more you practice the better you get. She also states in her article, “ No one thinks that babies are stupid because they can’t talk.
In Spanish Lessons by Christine Marin, encountered a similar obstacle in which not only her education and language were being tested, but her ability of not being able to communicate with others is what made her want to empower and strengthen her knowledge. This is because it occurs differently in every individual, and is influenced by the people, places and events surrounding each particular person. In her essay about growing up with a love of books and reading, Eudora Welty makes an important statement about the learning process when she writes, “Learning stamps you with its moments.
Ensuring that you use language that is understood by the person you are talking to and looking directly at them while you talk will
Carol Dweck states that “ new research shows that the brain is more a muscle-it changes and gets stronger when you use it” What Carol Dweck means is every time you use your brain, your intelligence is always growing and being smarter. The more a person learns, the easier it gets to learn new things for that person because their brains have gotten stronger. Additionally, Carol Dweck provides us with another quote “Just like a weightlifter or a basketball player, to be a brain athlete you have to exercise and practice. “ By this she means that the more you practice the easier things get by practicing it over and
PRO TECH No one ever questions that physical exercise can help people stay fit and healthy. Just an hour a day is known to reduce heart disease, the risk of cancer and strokes. I think in my adult years I can continue to use deliberate practice in certain things of my life. Colvin states that, “Becoming world-class great at anything seems to require thousands of hours of focused, deliberate practice... For an adult facing the responsibilities of a family and a career, devoting that kind of time to purely developmental activities would be exceedingly tough. Only in childhood and adolescence will the time typically be available” (171). This shows how influential deliberate practice is during childhood and how it becomes less effective when one reaches adulthood.
